Fishwire 1/2" carriage bolts with spacers through the access slot in the frame rail on both sides. 3. Fishwire 1/2" carriage bolts with spacers through the access holes in the vehicle cross member on both sides. 4. Raise the hitch into position and finger-tighten at all carriage bolt locations with 1/2" flange nuts. 5. Torque all 1/2" hardware to 110 ft.-lbs.
Fishwires are flexible guides included with the hitch (six 1/2" fishwires per the parts list). They are used to route the 1/2" carriage bolts with spacers through the access slots in the frame rail and through the access holes in the vehicle cross member during installation. This allows the bolts to be positioned correctly without drilling.
