However you define adventure -- whether it's climbing onto the back of a mountain bike, hunting from the top of a tree stand or camping with the family a long way from nowhere -- CURT class 1 hitches provide a light-duty towing receiver to help you Bring It. Each is made to fit a specific vehicle, providing easier installation, a better fit and optimal towing capacity. Custom class 1 trailer hitches are available for a variety of smaller vehicle types, including the compact car, crossover, minivan and small SUV. This particular class 1 hitch is designed to be a custom hitch for certain years of the Honda Civic, Acura CSX and Acura ILX (to verify vehicle compatibility, see the CURT application guide at curtmfg.com). Tested in accordance with SAE J684, it offers a weight carrying capacity of 2,000 lbs. GTW and 200 lbs. TW. It is equipped with 1-1/4" receiver tube opening to accept a ball mount shank or other hitch mount. This class 1 hitch also comes with all necessary mounting hardware. With its lightweight design and smaller receiver tube size, a class 1 hitch is especially useful for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier. They can also typically be used to tow small trailers such as a utility trailer, kayak trailer or teardrop camper (never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component; i.e. the vehicle, hitch, trailer, etc). Though CURT class 1 trailer hitches are only intended for light-duty towing, we apply the same principles of quality as we do to the rest of our rear mount hitches. Each class 1 hitch is made with hands-on engineering, high-strength steel and precise welding. We use a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat, inside and out, and durable black powder coat to provide a lasting defense against rust, chips and UV rays.
If your vehicle is not equipped with wiring for towing a trailer, CURT custom wiring is the ideal solution. A custom wiring harness -- also called a T-connector -- is a simple, plug-and-play electrical device that plugs into your automotive electric system and provides a standard, universal trailer wiring connection. This is done using two or more vehicle-specific, OEM-compatible connectors to plug into the taillight assembly, eliminating the need for cutting, splicing and soldering during installation. Custom wiring harnesses are made vehicle-specific, and while they are not available for all vehicles, they do offer one of the fastest, easiest and most secure ways to wire a vehicle for towing. This particular plug-in harness provides a 4-way flat connector socket and is designed to be a custom wiring harness to fit certain years of the Honda Civic coupe (to verify your vehicle compatibility, see application info). It comes with all necessary wiring components to establish a reliable trailer wiring connection, as well as a dust cover to keep the connector clean when not in use. You have a picture in mind of your next destination -- maybe it's the boat landing at your favorite fishing spot, maybe it's a campsite that overlooks one of nature's masterpieces, or maybe it's the next big jobsite. However, turning that picture into a reality takes more than just daydreaming. It takes a solid connection and the right amount of power. CURT custom wiring is made with some of the most sophisticated technology in the industry and is designed to install with ease, giving you a long-lasting electrical connection for your towing hitch setup.

Yes, part 11391 is designed for Honda Civic (including Si and Hybrid models), Acura CSX (Canadian models only), and Acura ILX. It fits 2006-present model years in sedan and coupe body styles.
No. Part 11391 is designed for Acura CSX in Canada only. If you live outside Canada, this hitch is not compatible with your vehicle.
The 11391 is rated for a maximum of 2,000 lbs trailer weight and 200 lbs tongue weight when used as a weight-carrying hitch. However, you must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower.
The 11391 is designed for use with Curt ballmount part 45501. Euro mount options are also available: part 45571 (1-7/8" ball) and part 45572 (2" ball).
You will need: torque wrench, ratchet, sockets (10mm, 9/16", 11/16", 3/4"), flat screwdriver, prybar, tin snips or aviation shears, power drill, and 17/32" drill bit.
Yes. The muffler must be temporarily lowered during installation. In step 7, you will raise the hitch and muffler simultaneously into position. The exhaust hanger must also be lowered from its frame attachment in step 1.
Yes. The heat shield and underbody panel (if present) must be removed in step 2. They will be trimmed and then reinstalled using the original fasteners. Save all four fasteners that attach the heat shield.
Drilling is required on some models. Some models may require the forwardmost mounting holes to be enlarged using a 17/32" drill bit. The manual notes this as a conditional requirement, not a universal one.
Yes. The heat shield and underbody panel must be trimmed as shown in the installation diagram. After trimming, they are reinstalled using the original fasteners removed in step 2.
Fishwire is a technique for inserting fasteners through tight spaces. In step 4, you fishwire the 7/16" carriage bolts and spacers into existing holes in the frame. The manual includes a fishwire technique diagram on page 5. Two 7/16" fishwire pieces are included in the parts list.
1. Lower the rear rubber exhaust hanger. 2. Remove and trim the heat shield and underbody panel. 3. Insert the 3/8" U-bolt through the tow loop. 4. Fishwire the 7/16" carriage bolts and spacers into frame holes. 5. Insert 1/2" handle nuts through access holes on both sides. 6. Reattach the trimmed heat shield and panel. 7. Raise the hitch and muffler simultaneously and loosely secure both sides. 8. Attach the hitch to the tow loop. 9. Torque all fasteners to specification.
Leave fasteners loose during installation. In step 7, you loosely secure the driver and passenger sides. Only after the hitch is fully positioned and attached to the tow loop (step 8) do you torque all fasteners to their final specifications in step 9.
Torque all 3/8" hardware to 45 ft-lbs. Torque all 7/16" hardware to 70 lb-ft. Torque all 1/2" hardware to 75 lb-ft. These specifications apply to the final tightening in step 9, after the hitch is positioned and attached.
The U-bolt is 3/8" - 16 x 1.00 x 1.88. It is inserted through the tow loop in step 3 of the installation.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times while installing this product. Read all instructions thoroughly before beginning. Two people may be required to ease installation. Using proper tools will improve installation quality and reduce time required.
Non-trailer (wheel-less) loads can be applied to the hitch, but they must be supported by auxiliary stabilizing straps. Curt recommends part 18050 stabilizing straps for all non-trailer loads. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This check should be performed regularly to maintain safe operation.
The kit includes: 2 serrated flange nuts (7/16-14 UNC), 2 hex head cap screws (1/2-13 UNC, 1-1/4"), 2 washers (1/2"), 2 handle nuts (1/2-13 UNC), 2 square hole spacers (.250 x .88 x 2.25"), 2 carriage bolts (7/16-14 UNC, 1-1/2"), 1 U-bolt (3/8-16 x 1.00 x 1.88), 2 serrated flange nuts (3/8-16 UNC), and 2 pieces of 7/16" fishwire.
Yes, the 11391 fits Honda Civic (including Si and Hybrid) and Acura ILX from 2006-present in sedan and coupe styles. Acura CSX is compatible only in Canada.

Yes, Curt part number 56051 is designed for Honda Civic vehicles. The manual does not specify which model years are compatible, so contact Curt Manufacturing or your retailer to confirm your specific vehicle year and generation.
The kit includes a T-connector with yellow, red, and green wires; a black converter box; double-sided tape; cable ties; an eyelet; a screw; and a 4-flat wire connector. The eyelet and screw are used to secure the white ground wire if drilling is required.
You will need a drill with a 3/32" bit (only if a suitable existing ground point is not available), a screwdriver, and basic hand tools. The manual does not specify additional tools required.
Open the trunk and remove the rear access covers on both sides of the vehicle. Remove the cargo area floor covering and rear scuff panel. Inside the rear access panel, you will locate the vehicle's taillight wiring harness. The connectors will be similar to those on the T-connector.
On the driver's side, separate the connectors from the backside of the taillight assembly. Insert the T-connector ends with the yellow and red wires in-between the separated housings.
Route the T-connector end with the green wire out from under the driver's side trim panel, across the removed scuff panel, and under the passenger side trim panel. On the passenger side, separate the 3-pin connector and insert the green wire only.
Adhere the black converter box to the frame of the car using the double-sided tape provided with the kit.
Secure any loose parts of the T-connector with the cable ties provided in the kit.
Drilling is required only if a suitable existing ground point is not available near the driver's side connector. If needed, drill a 3/32" hole to secure the white ground wire using the eyelet and screw provided.
Drill a 3/32" hole for the white ground wire if an existing screw with nut in the vehicle's frame is not available.
The T-connector includes yellow, red, green, and white wires. Yellow and red wires are inserted on the driver's side; green wire is routed across to the passenger side; white wire is the ground wire, secured to the vehicle frame with an eyelet and screw. The manual does not specify the function of each wire color.
On the driver's side, locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing screw with nut in the vehicle's frame. If no suitable point exists, drill a 3/32" hole and secure the white wire using the eyelet and screw provided.
Before drilling, verify that miscellaneous items hidden behind or under any surface will not be damaged. Drilling without checking can cause damage and/or personal injury.
Route the 4-flat wire to the center of the vehicle and out the trunk when in use. When not in use, roll it up and store it in an out-of-the-way location in the rear cargo area.
Curt 56051 is designed for Honda Civic. Confirm your specific model year with the manufacturer.
Drilling is optional. A 3/32" hole is needed only if no existing ground point (screw with nut) is available on the vehicle frame.
A drill with 3/32" bit (if drilling is needed), screwdriver, and basic hand tools. The kit includes tape, cable ties, eyelet, and screw.
Yellow, red, green, and white wires. Yellow and red connect on the driver's side, green routes to the passenger side, and white is the ground wire.
Verify that no hidden items (wires, fuel lines, etc.) are behind or under the surface where you plan to drill to avoid damage and injury.
