However you define adventure -- whether it's climbing onto the back of a mountain bike, hunting from the top of a tree stand or camping with the family a long way from nowhere -- CURT class 1 hitches provide a light-duty towing receiver to help you Bring It. Each is made to fit a specific vehicle, providing easier installation, a better fit and optimal towing capacity. Custom class 1 trailer hitches are available for a variety of smaller vehicle types, including the compact car, crossover, minivan and small SUV. This particular class 1 hitch is designed to be a custom hitch for certain years of the Honda Civic, Acura CSX and Acura ILX (to verify vehicle compatibility, see the CURT application guide at curtmfg.com). Tested in accordance with SAE J684, it offers a weight carrying capacity of 2,000 lbs. GTW and 200 lbs. TW. It is equipped with 1-1/4" receiver tube opening to accept a ball mount shank or other hitch mount. This class 1 hitch also comes with all necessary mounting hardware. With its lightweight design and smaller receiver tube size, a class 1 hitch is especially useful for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier. They can also typically be used to tow small trailers such as a utility trailer, kayak trailer or teardrop camper (never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component; i.e. the vehicle, hitch, trailer, etc). Though CURT class 1 trailer hitches are only intended for light-duty towing, we apply the same principles of quality as we do to the rest of our rear mount hitches. Each class 1 hitch is made with hands-on engineering, high-strength steel and precise welding. We use a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat, inside and out, and durable black powder coat to provide a lasting defense against rust, chips and UV rays.
If your vehicle is not equipped with wiring for towing a trailer, CURT custom wiring is the ideal solution. A custom wiring harness -- also called a T-connector -- is a simple, plug-and-play electrical device that plugs into your automotive electric system and provides a standard, universal trailer wiring connection. This is done using two or more vehicle-specific, OEM-compatible connectors to plug into the taillight assembly, eliminating the need for cutting, splicing and soldering during installation. Custom wiring harnesses are made vehicle-specific, and while they are not available for all vehicles, they do offer one of the fastest, easiest and most secure ways to wire a vehicle for towing. This particular plug-in harness provides a 4-way flat connector socket and is designed to be a custom wiring harness to fit certain years of the Acura ILX (to verify your vehicle compatibility, see application info). It comes with all necessary wiring components to establish a reliable trailer wiring connection, as well as a dust cover to keep the connector clean when not in use. You have a picture in mind of your next destination -- maybe it's the boat landing at your favorite fishing spot, maybe it's a campsite that overlooks one of nature's masterpieces, or maybe it's the next big jobsite. However, turning that picture into a reality takes more than just daydreaming. It takes a solid connection and the right amount of power. CURT custom wiring is made with some of the most sophisticated technology in the industry and is designed to install with ease, giving you a long-lasting electrical connection for your towing hitch setup.

Yes, part 11391 is designed for Honda Civic (including Si and Hybrid models), Acura CSX (Canadian models only), and Acura ILX. It fits 2006-present model years in sedan and coupe body styles.
No. Part 11391 is designed for Acura CSX in Canada only. If you live outside Canada, this hitch is not compatible with your vehicle.
The 11391 is rated for a maximum of 2,000 lbs trailer weight and 200 lbs tongue weight when used as a weight-carrying hitch. However, you must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower.
The 11391 is designed for use with Curt ballmount part 45501. Euro mount options are also available: part 45571 (1-7/8" ball) and part 45572 (2" ball).
You will need: torque wrench, ratchet, sockets (10mm, 9/16", 11/16", 3/4"), flat screwdriver, prybar, tin snips or aviation shears, power drill, and 17/32" drill bit.
Yes. The muffler must be temporarily lowered during installation. In step 7, you will raise the hitch and muffler simultaneously into position. The exhaust hanger must also be lowered from its frame attachment in step 1.
Yes. The heat shield and underbody panel (if present) must be removed in step 2. They will be trimmed and then reinstalled using the original fasteners. Save all four fasteners that attach the heat shield.
Drilling is required on some models. Some models may require the forwardmost mounting holes to be enlarged using a 17/32" drill bit. The manual notes this as a conditional requirement, not a universal one.
Yes. The heat shield and underbody panel must be trimmed as shown in the installation diagram. After trimming, they are reinstalled using the original fasteners removed in step 2.
Fishwire is a technique for inserting fasteners through tight spaces. In step 4, you fishwire the 7/16" carriage bolts and spacers into existing holes in the frame. The manual includes a fishwire technique diagram on page 5. Two 7/16" fishwire pieces are included in the parts list.
1. Lower the rear rubber exhaust hanger. 2. Remove and trim the heat shield and underbody panel. 3. Insert the 3/8" U-bolt through the tow loop. 4. Fishwire the 7/16" carriage bolts and spacers into frame holes. 5. Insert 1/2" handle nuts through access holes on both sides. 6. Reattach the trimmed heat shield and panel. 7. Raise the hitch and muffler simultaneously and loosely secure both sides. 8. Attach the hitch to the tow loop. 9. Torque all fasteners to specification.
Leave fasteners loose during installation. In step 7, you loosely secure the driver and passenger sides. Only after the hitch is fully positioned and attached to the tow loop (step 8) do you torque all fasteners to their final specifications in step 9.
Torque all 3/8" hardware to 45 ft-lbs. Torque all 7/16" hardware to 70 lb-ft. Torque all 1/2" hardware to 75 lb-ft. These specifications apply to the final tightening in step 9, after the hitch is positioned and attached.
The U-bolt is 3/8" - 16 x 1.00 x 1.88. It is inserted through the tow loop in step 3 of the installation.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times while installing this product. Read all instructions thoroughly before beginning. Two people may be required to ease installation. Using proper tools will improve installation quality and reduce time required.
Non-trailer (wheel-less) loads can be applied to the hitch, but they must be supported by auxiliary stabilizing straps. Curt recommends part 18050 stabilizing straps for all non-trailer loads. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This check should be performed regularly to maintain safe operation.
The kit includes: 2 serrated flange nuts (7/16-14 UNC), 2 hex head cap screws (1/2-13 UNC, 1-1/4"), 2 washers (1/2"), 2 handle nuts (1/2-13 UNC), 2 square hole spacers (.250 x .88 x 2.25"), 2 carriage bolts (7/16-14 UNC, 1-1/2"), 1 U-bolt (3/8-16 x 1.00 x 1.88), 2 serrated flange nuts (3/8-16 UNC), and 2 pieces of 7/16" fishwire.
Yes, the 11391 fits Honda Civic (including Si and Hybrid) and Acura ILX from 2006-present in sedan and coupe styles. Acura CSX is compatible only in Canada.
Maximum 2,000 lbs trailer weight and 200 lbs tongue weight. Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.

Yes, the Curt 56269 Custom Wiring Connector is designed for the Acura ILX (passenger car). The manual specifies this as the application and includes vehicle-specific wiring location diagrams for the ILX.
The Curt 56269 is a Custom Wiring Connector that integrates with your vehicle's taillight wiring to provide trailer lighting control. It includes a converter box and a 4-flat connector for trailer hookup, with wiring routed through both the driver and passenger side taillights.
You will need: Phillips screwdriver, panel trim removal tool, wire stripper, wire crimper, cutting tool, and sealant (not provided). The manual also recommends a test light or properly wired trailer to verify function after installation.
The kit includes: a custom wiring harness with yellow, red, green, white and black wires; a black converter box; a ring terminal and provided screw for grounding; double-sided tape for mounting the converter box; cable ties for securing loose wires; and a 4-flat dust cover. Sealant is not provided and must be purchased separately.
Yes. Step 1 requires you to locate the vehicle battery on the driver side under the hood and disconnect the negative battery terminal before beginning any installation work.
You must open the vehicle trunk and have access to both the driver and passenger side taillight areas. The installation involves removing trunk floor coverings, the scuff panel, side felt liners, and taillight assemblies to access the wiring harness connectors.
Drilling may be required. Step 10 instructs you to locate a suitable grounding point near the connector. If an existing screw with nut is not available in the vehicle frame, you must drill a 3/32" pilot hole for the provided ground screw. The manual warns to check for hidden items before drilling to avoid damage and personal injury.
Yes. Step 7 requires you to remove the grommet behind the taillight where the vehicle taillight wiring passes through and cut a slit large enough to route the custom wiring harness through. After routing the harness, Step 9 requires you to reseat the grommet and seal the cut with sealant (not provided).
Signal Circuits are rated at 3.0 amps per side. Tail/Running Circuits are rated at 6.0 amps total. The battery connection must be fuse-protected with a 10-amp max fuse. Do not exceed the product rating or the tow vehicle lamp load rating, whichever is lower, as exceeding the rating can cause loss of warranty, overheating and potential fire.
The custom wiring harness includes: yellow wire (routed to driver side taillight 2-pin connector), red wire (routed to driver side taillight 3-pin connector), green wire (routed to passenger side taillight), white wire (ground wire secured with ring terminal and provided screw), and black wire (power wire routed from vehicle battery). Refer to the included CME-PCL-INS sheet for complete battery power wire routing details.
The white ground wire is secured using a ring terminal and the provided screw. Step 10 instructs you to locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing screw with nut in the vehicle frame, or drill a 3/32" pilot hole if needed. The area must be free of rust, dirt and paint before securing the ground wire.
Step 11 instructs you to locate a flat spot inside the vehicle near the taillight and adhere the black converter box using the provided double-sided tape. The converter box should be positioned in a convenient location that does not interfere with vehicle operation.
Step 14 instructs that when not in use, the 4-flat connector should be rolled up and stored in a convenient, out-of-the-way location. When in use, route the 4-flat to the center of the vehicle. A 4-flat dust cover is provided to help prevent corrosion.
After installation is complete, test for proper function by using a test light or connecting a properly wired trailer. All steps must be followed to ensure the wiring connector functions properly. The manual emphasizes that testing is required before considering the installation complete.
The battery connection must be fuse-protected with a 10-amp max fuse. Exceeding this rating can cause loss of warranty, overheating and potential fire. Do not exceed the product rating or the tow vehicle lamp load rating, whichever is lower.
Before drilling, check for miscellaneous items that may be hidden behind or under any surface to avoid damage and personal injury. This is especially important when drilling the 3/32" pilot hole for the ground screw in Step 10.
Step 8 specifies: route the custom wiring harness end with the yellow wire out through the grommet opening and insert it between the separated 2-pin connectors. Then repeat using the red wire between the 3-pin connectors. Make sure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place. Repeat this process on the passenger side using the green wire (Step 12).
Step 9 instructs you to reseat the grommet and use sealant (not provided) to seal the cut in the grommet and around all the wires. This prevents water and debris from entering the vehicle through the modified grommet opening.
Step 5 instructs: on the outside of the vehicle, locate and remove the cover on the taillight assembly to gain access to the taillight fasteners. Remove the two screws securing the taillight and gently remove the taillight by pulling it straight back. Step 6 then requires you to locate the vehicle taillight wiring harness connectors behind the taillight and separate them from the housing, taking care not to damage the locking tabs.
Step 4 instructs: starting on the driver side, remove the fasteners securing the side felt liner in place. Pull back on the felt liner to locate the vehicle taillight wiring harness connectors. This provides access from inside the trunk to the wiring that will be connected to the custom harness.
Step 2 requires you to open the vehicle trunk and remove all trunk floor coverings and storage trays. Step 3 requires you to remove the scuff panel by pulling out on the bottom and then up, taking care not to damage the alignment tabs located on the back.
Step 14 instructs you to secure any loose wires with the provided cable ties. This keeps the wiring organized and prevents interference with vehicle operation.
Step 15 requires you to: reinstall all items removed during installation, reconnect the negative battery terminal, and install the provided 4-flat dust cover to help prevent corrosion. After reconnecting the battery, test the installation using a test light or properly wired trailer.
Yes, the Curt 56269 Custom Wiring Connector is designed specifically for the Acura ILX passenger car.
Signal Circuits: 3.0 amps per side. Tail/Running Circuits: 6.0 amps total. Battery connection must use a 10-amp max fuse. Do not exceed the product rating or tow vehicle lamp load rating, whichever is lower.
The battery connection must be fuse-protected with a 10-amp max fuse. Exceeding this rating can cause loss of warranty, overheating and potential fire.
