Step 1 is to open the rear hatch to expose two taillight trim panels (one near each taillight). Remove the trim panels by using a trim tool to remove two round plastic covers, then use a T-15 Torx bit to remove the two screws from each trim panel.
In Step 2, use a T-15 Torx bit to remove two screws securing the wheel well liner to the rear bumper fascia. These fasteners are located on the bottom rear part of each wheel well. Then carefully remove the plastic wheel well trim starting from the rear-most part working forward until the top edge of the rear fascia is exposed. Remove one bolt from behind the wheel well trim on each side using a 7mm socket.
In Step 3, remove one screw on each side from the bottom of the tailgate/hatch area using a T-15 Torx bit. Remove two push fasteners and two screws from the bottom of the fascia using a T-15 Torx bit and flathead screwdriver. Remove the fascia starting at the wheel wells and gently pull toward the middle of the vehicle. If present, disconnect the wiring harness on the driver side.

Yes. You must cut slits in grommets to route wiring, and you may need to drill a 3/32" hole for the ground wire connection. Before drilling, check for items behind or under surfaces to avoid injury or damage.
Use 12 GA (12 gauge) wire or larger for the power connection to the vehicle battery. The connection must be fuse-protected with a 15-amp maximum fuse and use a ring terminal.

First, verify that the harness is functioning by testing with a test light, 4-flat tester, or a functioning trailer. Check that: (1) the negative battery terminal is properly reconnected, (2) the 15-amp fuse is installed and not blown, (3) the black power wire is securely attached to the positive battery terminal with a ring terminal, (4) the white ground wire is securely attached to the vehicle body, (5) all T-connector locking tabs are fully seated, (6) no wires are pinched or damaged, and (7) the converter box is properly mounted and grounded.
