The kit includes: 2× 7/16-14 UNC 1-1/2" grade 8 carriage bolts (10-10282), 2× 1/2-13 UNC 1-1/2" grade 8 carriage bolts (10-10287), 2× 1/2-13 serrated flange nuts (20-00062), 2× 7/16-14 serrated flange nuts (20-00103), 2× 0.250 × 1.00 × 3.00" square hole spacers (CM-SP6), 2× 0.250 × 1.00 × 2.50" square hole spacers (CM-SP11), 2× 0.250 × 1.50 × 2.00" round hole spacers (CM-SP16), 2× 7/16" fishwire, and 2× 1/2" fishwire.
Yes. You must remove the 4 rubber plugs from the frame rails. Return these plugs to the vehicle owner. Leave the center plugs in place.
Two people may be required to ease installation. While one person may be able to complete the installation, having a second person will help, particularly when raising the hitch to align it with the frame.
No drilling is required. However, hole enlargement is necessary. You will need to use a die grinder to enlarge the access holes in the frame rails as needed to fit the spacers and bolts.
1. Remove the 4 rubber plugs from the frame rails and return them to the vehicle owner (leave center plugs in). 2. Fishwire the 7/16" carriage bolts and CM-SP11 spacers into position first. 3. Reverse fishwire the 1/2" carriage bolts and CM-SP6 spacers into position afterward, enlarging access holes as necessary. 4. Raise the hitch to the frame, aligning the holes in the hitch with the bolts. Use 1.50" × 2.00" round hole spacers (CM-SP16) to level the hitch as necessary. 5. Install remaining supplied hardware. 6. Torque all 7/16" fasteners to 59 lb-ft and all 1/2" fasteners to 110 lb-ft.
All 7/16" fasteners must be torqued to 59 lb-ft.
All 1/2" fasteners must be torqued to 110 lb-ft.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times while installing this product. Be careful not to push the bolts into the frame during installation. Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity when using the hitch.
All non-trailer (wheel-less) loads applied to this product must be supported by 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. See the CURT catalog or visit www.curtmfg.com for further information.
