A CURT trailer hitch is the key to pursuing your passions, whether you're taking the family boat out for an afternoon on the water or packing up the mountain bikes for a day on the trails. This CURT class 2 hitch is perfect for towing a small trailer, such as a boat trailer, lightweight camper or utility trailer. It can also be used to mount a hitch cargo carrier or bike rack (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 2 trailer hitch is made for a vehicle-specific fit. It is engineered to seamlessly integrate with select years of the Chevrolet S10, GMC S15 and GMC Sonoma (see application info to verify fitment). It is rated for 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. It is also equipped with 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" hitch receiver to accept the included ball mount. The ball mount that comes with this hitch kit has a 3/4" trailer ball hole and can be positioned in the drop or rise orientation for level towing with your specific trailer (trailer ball not included). Like all CURT custom receiver hitches, this class 2 hitch is designed, manufactured, finished and tested with the utmost care. It is engineered for a precise fit, easy installation, maximum towing strength and an integrated look on the vehicle. It is also tested to SAE J684 protocols for safety. This class 2 trailer hitch is finished with our industry-leading dual-coat process for unparalleled rust, chip and UV resistance. It is descaled for a smooth surface, submersed in liquid A-coat for rust prevention inside and out, covered with a highly durable powder coat, and finally co-cured for a dependable shield against the elements. This class 2 hitch comes with a ball mount, hitch pin and mounting hardware for a complete installation.

The 1983-1990 GMC S15 All Class 2 Trailer Hitch, 1-1/4" Ball Mount (Part #CHD-120113-002) fits the following vehicles: 1983-1990 GMC S15. Always verify your specific year, make, and model before ordering.
The 1983-1990 GMC S15 All Class 2 Trailer Hitch, 1-1/4" Ball Mount (Part #CHD-120113-002) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
Part 12011 fits 1983–2004 Chevrolet and GMC S-10, S-15, and Sonoma pickups (including Sport Side models), and 1996–2000 Isuzu Hombre. The installation procedure differs between 1994–1997 and 1998-present bumper bracket configurations. Verify your vehicle year and bumper style before purchasing.
Some spare tires may need to be lowered and repositioned for hitch installation. On early models with a cradle storage system, the spare tire carrier must be cut 1/8" inboard of the outer frame edge. After cutting, the spare tire can be raised back into position and secured.
No, drilling is not required. The hitch uses existing frame holes and fastens to the frame using the supplied M12 bolts, washers, and nuts.
The kit includes 6× M12-1.75 × 40 mm hex bolts, 12× FW12 flat washers, and 6× M12-1.75 hex nuts. Additional 1/2" washers are required as spacers on pre-1994 models (3 per bolt location).
All fasteners must be torqued to 110 lb.-ft.
Gross load capacity is 3500 lbs trailer weight and 350 lbs tongue weight when used as a weight-carrying hitch. Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.
This hitch is designed for use with Curt ball mount #D-19 / 45519.
Pre-1994 models have bumpers attached to brackets with two horizontal bolts. 1994–1997 models use two vertical bolts. 1998-present models require removal of the plastic tread from the top of the bumper, which is then attached with four vertical bolts. The hitch installation procedure and fastener placement differ accordingly.
For step bumper models, yes. You must remove the bumper, disconnect its wiring, and remove the bumper brackets from the frame. For Sport Side bed models with a plastic step tread, the bumper does not need to be removed; instead, remove only the bumper bracket bolts. Pre-1994 models with cradle spare tire storage require additional carrier modification.
Position the receiver on the frame so that the receiver brackets sit between the bumper brackets and the frame. Loosely install 3× M12 bolts and fasteners per side. Do not fully tighten until all fasteners are installed and the bumper (if removed) is reinstalled.
After positioning the hitch and loosely installing fasteners, reinstall the bumper on the bumper brackets using the original bolts. On pre-1994 models, use 3× 1/2" washers at each bolt location as spacers between the brackets and bumper. Then raise the spare tire back into position, secure it, and reconnect the bumper wiring. Finally, torque all fasteners to 110 lb.-ft.
Only if your vehicle is an early model with a cradle storage system for the spare tire. Mark the spare tire carrier 1/8" inboard of the outer frame edge, lower the spare tire, and cut the carrier along the marked line. After hitch installation, raise the spare tire back into position and secure it.
On pre-1994 models, reuse the original bumper bolts when reinstalling the bumper on the bumper brackets. The hitch uses new M12 bolts, washers, and nuts supplied in the kit.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This helps maintain safe operation and prevent loosening due to vibration and use.
Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. Although this hitch has a gross load capacity of 3500 lbs trailer weight and 350 lbs tongue weight, your vehicle's engine, transmission, brakes, and frame may have lower limits. Always follow the vehicle manufacturer's specifications.
