Whatever the next checkpoint is on your adventure -- whether it's getting your bike on the trail before sunrise or making it to the campground before dark -- CURT class 2 hitches let you Bring It with confidence. These receiver hitches are made to handle most light-duty towing applications and offer a custom fit for your vehicle. Typically used on full-size cars, crossovers, compact SUVs, minivans or even compact pickup trucks, a CURT class 2 trailer hitch complements the design of smaller vehicles. This particular class 2 hitch is made to be a custom hitch for certain years of the Honda Odyssey (to verify vehicle compatibility, see application info). It offers a weight carrying capacity of 3,500 lbs. GTW and 350 lbs. TW. Class 2 trailer hitches can typically be used to tow a variety of lightweight trailers, such as a small utility trailer, small fishing boat trailer or popup camper (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component). They are also perfect for adding cargo space to your vehicle with a bike rack or cargo carrier. This class 2 hitch features a 1-1/4" receiver tube to accept a ball mount shank or other hitch-mounted accessory. For safety, it is tested in accordance with SAE J684. A custom trailer hitch design requires extra care, and as such, CURT class 2 hitches are engineered using real vehicles and hands-on research. We use high-strength steel, robotic welding and rigorous testing to produce hitches that are built to fit your lifestyle. To ensure that each hitch will be a reliable extension of your vehicle, we also finish our hitches in a co-curing of liquid A-coat and black powder coat, giving them long-lasting rust and wear resistance.
Trailer hitch weight ratings are limited to vehicle manufacturer's stated capacities
Not compatible for use with vertical hanging bicycles (bike racks that require the bicycles to be hung / mounted vertically)

Yes, the CURT 12031 is designed for Honda Odyssey vans from 1999 to present. It is a weight-carrying hitch with a maximum trailer weight capacity of 3,500 lbs and tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs. Always verify your vehicle's manufacturer towing capacity before towing, as you must never exceed it.
The CURT 12031 is rated for a maximum trailer weight of 3,500 lbs and a tongue weight of 350 lbs when used as a weight-carrying hitch. However, you must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower than the hitch rating.
You will need: a ratchet, torque wrench, 9" extension, 11/16" socket, 19mm socket, 10mm socket, and a screwdriver. A torque wrench is essential because fasteners must be torqued to specific values (12mm hardware to 86 ft-lbs and 7/16" hardware to 59 ft-lbs).
No, drilling is not required. The hitch uses existing weldnuts on the frame rails and an existing access hole on the driver side frame rail. The installation uses fishwire hardware to secure the driver side fastener through the access hole.
If a plastic fascia is present covering the driver side frame rail, you will need to remove it. The fascia is held by 5 fasteners. You should return these fasteners and the fascia to the vehicle owner. Note: you may trim the fascia and re-attach it after hitch installation if desired.
1. Remove the plastic fascia covering the driver side frame rail if present (5 fasteners). 2. Locate and clean the 2 weldnuts near the end of each frame rail of debris and rust. 3. Raise the hitch into position by sliding the passenger side plate over the exhaust first. Secure using M12-1.25 x 35mm bolts and 1/2" conical toothed washers. 4. On the driver side, fishwire a 7/16-14 x 1 1/2" carriage bolt and CM-SP2 spacer through the access hole into the existing hole in the frame rail bottom. Secure with 7/16" flange nut. 5. Torque all 12mm hardware to 86 ft-lbs and all 7/16" hardware to 59 ft-lbs.
Sliding the passenger side plate over the exhaust first ensures the hitch is positioned correctly and avoids interference with the exhaust system during installation. This is the correct sequence for raising the hitch into position.
All 12mm hardware (the M12-1.25 x 35mm bolts) must be torqued to 86 ft-lbs. All 7/16" hardware (the carriage bolt and flange nut) must be torqued to 59 ft-lbs. Use a torque wrench to ensure proper tightness.
The kit includes: 4 M12-1.25 x 35mm hex head cap screws (part 10-10275), 1 carriage bolt 7/16-14 UNC 1-1/2" (part 10-10282), 1 serrated flange nut 7/16-14 UNC (part 20-00103), 4 conical toothed washers 1/2" (part 30-00149), 1 square hole spacer .250 x .88 x 2.25" (part CM-SP2), and 1 length of 7/16" fishwire (part 7_16 FISHWIRE).
Two people may be required to ease installation. While one person may be able to complete the installation, having a second person can make the process easier, particularly when raising the hitch into position.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times while installing this product. If you are hesitant to undertake this task on your own, contact an authorized CURT installer for additional assistance. You can reach CURT technical support at 877-287-8634.
All non-trailer (wheel-less) loads applied to this hitch must be supported by 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. For further information about stabilizing straps, see the CURT catalog or visit www.curtmfg.com.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound. This ongoing inspection helps maintain the integrity and safety of the hitch.
The CURT 12031 is designed for use with ball mount D-55001 or 45501. A euro mount option is also available with part numbers 45571 (1-7/8" ball) and 45572 (2" ball).
Fishwire is a technique used to route the 7/16-14 x 1 1/2" carriage bolt and CM-SP2 spacer through the access hole on the driver side frame rail and into the existing hole in the bottom of the frame rail. The bolt is then secured with a 7/16" flange nut. This allows fastening without drilling new holes.
The weldnuts on the frame rails should be cleaned of debris and rust to ease hitch installation. Clean weldnuts ensure proper seating of the bolts and washers, which is important for achieving correct torque values and hitch security.
Yes. The CURT 12031 is rated for 3,500 lbs trailer weight and 350 lbs tongue weight. Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's towing capacity.
No. The hitch uses existing weldnuts and an existing access hole on the driver side frame rail. No drilling is required.
Ratchet, torque wrench, 9" extension, 11/16" socket, 19mm socket, 10mm socket, and screwdriver. A torque wrench is essential for proper fastener tightening.
12mm hardware: 86 ft-lbs. 7/16" hardware: 59 ft-lbs. Use a torque wrench for all fasteners.
All non-trailer loads must be supported by 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to do so voids the warranty.
Periodically check that all fasteners are tight and structural components are sound.
