This CURT class 2 hitch is perfect for towing a small trailer, such as a boat trailer, lightweight camper or utility trailer. It can also be used to mount a hitch cargo carrier or bike rack (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 2 trailer hitch is made for a vehicle-specific fit. It is engineered to seamlessly integrate with select years of the Buick LeSabre, Buick Lucerne, Oldsmobile Aurora and Pontiac Bonneville (see application info to verify fitment). It is rated for 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. It is also equipped with 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" hitch receiver to accept the included ball mount. The ball mount that comes with this hitch kit has a 3/4" trailer ball hole and can be positioned in the drop or rise orientation for level towing with your specific trailer (trailer ball not included). Like all CURT custom receiver hitches, this class 2 hitch is designed, manufactured, finished and tested with the utmost care. It is engineered for a precise fit, easy installation, maximum towing strength and an integrated look on the vehicle. It is also tested to SAE J684 protocols for safety. This class 2 trailer hitch is finished with our industry-leading dual-coat process for unparalleled rust, chip and UV resistance. It is descaled for a smooth surface, submersed in liquid A-coat for rust prevention inside and out, covered with a highly durable powder coat, and finally co-cured for a dependable shield against the elements. This class 2 hitch comes with a ball mount, hitch pin and mounting hardware for a complete installation.

You will need: a drill with a 17/32" drill bit, 17mm socket, 9/16" socket, 3/4" socket, 10" extension, ratchet, and torque wrench. These are the minimum tools required for proper installation.
Yes. Step 1 requires you to remove the exhaust hanger bracket from the bottom of the frame rail and disconnect the rubber hanger attached to the exhaust tail pipe. A replacement bracket (CM-12044-EHB) is provided in the kit and will be installed later. Return the factory exhaust brackets to the vehicle owner.
Yes, drilling is required. You must drill two 17/32" holes using the hitch as a template. The hitch is temporarily attached with hex bolts before drilling to ensure proper hole placement.
Possibly. If your vehicle is equipped with a heat shield, you may need to bend or cut it to allow for hitch clearance. The rearmost fastener securing the heat shield to the frame rail should be removed and discarded. Trim the heat shield as needed. This modification is permanent.
If your vehicle is equipped with automatic load leveling control, remove the rearmost fastener securing the load leveling control housing to the frame rail and discard it. Trim the load leveling control housing as needed to provide clearance for the hitch.
The fishwire technique is used to route carriage bolts and spacers through frame access holes after the hitch is lowered into position. A fishwire tool (included, part CM-SP6) is used to guide the fasteners through the frame. Refer to the Fishwire Technique Diagram in the manual for detailed visual instructions.
Slide the rubber hanger onto the 3/8" carriage bolt and secure it with a flanged hex nut (HFN 1213). Tighten the nut against the rubber hanger, allowing the hanger to rotate freely. Do not over-tighten, as this can damage the rubber isolator.
Torque all M10 fasteners to 45 ft.-lbs.
Torque all 1/2" fasteners to 110 ft.-lbs.
Non-trailer loads can be carried, but they must be supported by auxiliary stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty.
