Whatever your task at hand -- whether it's launching that boat before daybreak, setting up your camper before the rush or getting a final load to the dump before close -- CURT class 3 trailer hitches offer the strength needed for serious towing. They make it easy to hitch up and Bring It, offering a vehicle-specific fit and the weight capacity to handle a variety of trailers. Custom class 3 hitches are the most common type of receiver hitch for pickup trucks and SUVs. Because of their weight range, they are also found on full-size cars, crossovers and minivans. Each custom-fit class 3 hitch package is made for vehicle-specific mounting. This particular kit fits certain years of the Chevy Silverado 2500 HD, 2500 HD Classic, 3500, 3500 HD or 3500 Classic and GMC Sierra 2500 HD, 2500 HD Classic, 3500, 3500 HD or 3500 Classic (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 6,000 lbs. GTW and 600 lbs. TW. It is also compatible with a weight distribution hitch for level towing and a rating of 10,000 lbs. WD and 1,000 lbs. WDTW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. We also protect our class 3 hitches in a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and black powder coat for superior resistance to rust, chipping and UV damage.
Trailer hitch weight ratings are limited to vehicle manufacturer's stated capacities

The manual lists gross load capacity specifications for both weight-carrying and weight-distribution modes, but the specific values are not filled in on this copy. Contact Curt Manufacturing or check the product documentation for your specific vehicle to confirm capacity. Always verify that the hitch capacity does not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.
The kit includes: 2× M14×2 grade 10.9 hex head cap screws (HHCS), 4× M14 serrated flange nuts, 4× 9/16" lock washers, 12× 9/16" flat washers, 2× 1/2-13 UNC grade 8 bolts (1-3/4" long), 2× 1/2-13 UNC grade 8 serrated flange nuts, 2× round hole spacers (0.250" × 1.50" × 1.50"), and 2× square hole spacers (0.250" × 1.50" × 2.00").
The manual recommends lowering the spare tire for ease of installation. This is not a requirement but will make the job easier, particularly if your truck has an under-body mounted spare tire that could interfere with access.
Yes, trimming is required. You must trim the bumper fascia as needed for access to the weldnuts in the bumper and to provide clearance for the bumper mount attachment points.
The manual does not specify required tools. However, you will need a lifting device to position the hitch, a socket set to fit M14 and 1/2" fasteners, a torque wrench, and a tool to trim the bumper fascia. Contact Curt Manufacturing if you need a detailed tool list.
The manual does not specify whether professional installation is required. The installation involves lifting the hitch into position, trimming the bumper, and torquing fasteners to precise specifications. If you are not experienced with vehicle modifications and torque procedures, professional installation is recommended.
Yes. Step 1 of the installation instructions states: 'Remove existing 14M fasteners from end of each frame rail if present and return to customer.' These fasteners should be saved and returned to the vehicle owner.
Lift the receiver into position, locating the slots in the hitch over the weldnuts in the vehicle frame. The hitch mounts to both the frame rails and the bumper. Use 9/16" washers between the hitch and bumper as needed to account for variations in bumper height.
All M14 fasteners must be torqued to 126 lb-ft.
All 1/2" fasteners must be torqued to 110 lb-ft.
Install 1 to 4 nine-sixteenths inch (9/16") washers per side between the hitch and bumper attachment as needed to account for variations in bumper height. The exact number depends on your vehicle's bumper geometry.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. The manual does not specify a time interval; perform checks before each towing trip and at regular maintenance intervals.
Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The Curt 13210 has rated capacities for both weight-carrying and weight-distribution modes, but the specific values are not provided in this manual copy. Contact Curt Manufacturing or your vehicle dealer for the exact capacity ratings.
