These custom receiver hitches are built to tackle bigger jobs and bolder adventures, all while giving you a custom fit for your vehicle. Class 4 hitches are available for a variety of makes and models, from pickup trucks and SUVs to full-size and commercial vans. This particular class 4 hitch fits certain years of the Dodge Sprinter 2500 and 3500 (to verify vehicle compatibility, see application info). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 10,000 lbs. GTW and 1,000 lbs. TW. It can also accept a weight distributing hitch, offering a maximum WD capacity of 12,000 lbs. and a WDTW of 1,200 lbs. CURT class 4 tow hitches are as much suited for work as they are for play. With their high load capacities, they are typically used for towing larger trailers, including everything from a double-axle utility trailer or livestock trailer to a full-length camper or large boat trailer (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component). All CURT class 4 receiver hitches come with a 2" receiver tube opening and all the necessary hardware for a complete installation. From light-duty to heavy-duty, every CURT custom hitch is engineered to be vehicle-specific, using actual vehicles to create the optimal design. We then combine high-strength steel, precise welding and a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and durable black powder coat to provide you with a hitch you can depend on. To prove it, we test all our hitches in accordance with SAE J684 for safety.

The 14250 spacer plate kit is designed for 03-06 Dodge/Freightliner Sprinter models. However, it will not fit 140" dual-wheel Sprinter models. If you have a 118" wheelbase Sprinter, you will need to relocate the spare tire and modify the exhaust hanger. If you have a 158" wheelbase Sprinter with dual wheels, you will need to remove the step bumper support brace from the passenger side step bumper bracket.
No. The 14250 spacer plate will not fit 140" dual-wheel Sprinter models.
Yes. If your Sprinter has a 118" wheelbase, you must relocate the spare tire and modify the exhaust hanger before or during installation of the 14250 spacer plate.
Yes. If your Sprinter has a 158" wheelbase with dual wheels, you must remove the step bumper support brace from the passenger side step bumper bracket before installing the 14250 spacer plate.
The kit includes: 2× 0.250" × 1.00" × 2.50" square hole spacer plates (CM-SP10), 8× 1/2-13 UNC Grade 8 serrated flange nuts (20-00062), 6× 1/2-13 UNC Grade 8 hex head cap screws, 4" length (10-10407), 6× 1/2" flat washers (30-00133), 1× 1/2" fishwire (1_2 FISHWIRE), 2× 0.250" A-36 hot-rolled steel plates (CM-SP143), and 2× 1/2-13 UNC Grade 8 carriage bolts, 1-1/2" length (10-10287).
For step bumper models only: you must remove the 2 existing bumper bolts from each side of the frame before installation. These bolts are reinstalled after the hitch is positioned. For non-step bumper models, no bumper removal is required.
Yes. Remove undercoating from mounting surfaces as needed before installation to ensure proper fit and fastener contact.
Yes. Drilling is required. You must drill 2× 9/16" holes through the frame rails using the hitch as a template, and enlarge the existing holes in the bottom of the frame rails to 1 1/8".
Only for step bumper models. Break off the corner of the 1/4" spacer plates as shown in the diagram. Do not break off the spacer corner for non-step bumper models.
Position the spacer plates on the inside of the frame rails. Use the existing frame holes to raise the hitch into position. Install the 1/2" × 4" hex bolts, flat washers, and flange nuts through the spacer plates and frame.
Fishwire is a flexible wire used to route the 1/2" carriage bolts and spacers through the enlarged holes in the bottom of the frame rails. Thread the carriage bolts and spacers through the enlarged holes using the fishwire, then secure them with flange nuts.
All 1/2" fasteners must be torqued to 110 lb-ft.
All M12 fasteners (bumper bracket fasteners) must be torqued to 82 lb-ft.
Drill 2× 9/16" holes through the frame rails using the hitch as a template. Enlarge the existing holes in the bottom of the frame rails to 1 1/8".
The manual does not specify the gross load capacity, trailer weight capacity, or tongue weight capacity for the 14250. Contact Curt Manufacturing for this information. Regardless of the hitch capacity, you must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This helps prevent loosening due to vibration and wear during towing.
Yes. Alteration to, misuse of, or improper installation of the 14250 voids the warranty. Curt Manufacturing warrants the product to be free of defects in material and workmanship at the time of retail purchase. If defects are found, Curt may repair or replace the product at their option when returned prepaid with proof of purchase.
The 14250 fits 03-06 Dodge/Freightliner Sprinters except 140" dual-wheel models. 118" wheelbase models require spare tire relocation and exhaust hanger modification. 158" dual-wheel models require step bumper support brace removal.
Yes. You must drill 2× 9/16" holes through the frame and enlarge existing holes to 1 1/8". For step bumper models, you must also break off the corner of the spacer plates.
Torque all 1/2" fasteners to 110 lb-ft and all M12 fasteners (bumper bracket fasteners) to 82 lb-ft.
