These receiver hitches are made to handle most light-duty towing applications and offer a custom fit for your vehicle. Typically used on full-size cars, crossovers, compact SUVs, minivans or even compact pickup trucks, a CURT class 2 trailer hitch complements the design of smaller vehicles. This particular class 2 hitch is made to be a custom hitch for certain years of the Lexus ES350 and Toyota Camry (to verify vehicle compatibility, see application info). It offers a weight carrying capacity of 3,500 lbs. GTW and 350 lbs. TW. Class 2 trailer hitches can typically be used to tow a variety of lightweight trailers, such as a small utility trailer, small fishing boat trailer or popup camper (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component). They are also perfect for adding cargo space to your vehicle with a bike rack or cargo carrier. This class 2 hitch features a 1-1/4" receiver tube to accept a ball mount shank or other hitch-mounted accessory. For safety, it is tested in accordance with SAE J684. A custom trailer hitch design requires extra care, and as such, CURT class 2 hitches are engineered using real vehicles and hands-on research. We use high-strength steel, robotic welding and rigorous testing to produce hitches that are built to fit your lifestyle. To ensure that each hitch will be a reliable extension of your vehicle, we also finish our hitches in a co-curing of liquid A-coat and black powder coat, giving them long-lasting rust and wear resistance.

When used as a weight-carrying hitch, the gross load capacity is 3500 lbs trailer weight and 350 lbs tongue weight. Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower.
The hitch includes 8 M10×1.25 hex cap screws (HHCS), class 10.9, part number 10-10271, and 8 washers (S-CON, 7/16"), part number 30-00163. These fasteners secure the hitch to the vehicle's frame rail weldnuts.
Required tools are: 10, 12, 14, and 17 mm sockets; a swivel/knuckle; a 10" extension; a ratchet; a torque wrench; and a flat screwdriver for trim work.
No. The installation notes state "NO DRILLING REQUIRED." The hitch uses existing weldnuts on the vehicle's frame rail.
The exhaust must be lowered during installation. Step 1 requires removing 3 bolts in the rearmost bracket and 2 rubber hangers forward of the muffler, then supporting the exhaust while installing the hitch. The exhaust is then raised and secured with hitch fasteners in step 5.
Fascia trimming may be required. If a plastic fascia is present under the trunk pan and passenger side frame rail, it can either be trimmed to fit around the hitch or removed entirely and returned to the customer. See the Fascia Trim Detail diagram in the manual.
Yes, if present. Step 3 requires removing driver and/or passenger side tow brackets (3 bolts each). These brackets and bolts should be returned to the customer.
1. Lower the exhaust by removing 3 bolts in the rearmost bracket and 2 rubber hangers, and support it. 2. Remove plastic fascia if present. 3. Remove factory tow brackets if present. 4. Raise the hitch and loosely install it using M10 bolts and washers into the horizontal holes. 5. Raise the exhaust and sandwich the hitch between the frame rail and exhaust hanger bracket, then install the remaining M10 bolts. 6. Torque all M10 fasteners to 48 lb-ft. 7. Trim and reinstall fascia if needed.
All M10 hex bolts must be torqued to 48 lb-ft. This is done in step 6 after the hitch and exhaust are fully positioned.
Hitch 12343 is designed for use with ball mount #45501 or #36071B.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This helps maintain safe operation and prevent loosening due to vibration and use.
Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. Although hitch 12343 has a gross load capacity of 3500 lbs trailer weight and 350 lbs tongue weight, your vehicle's manufacturer may specify a lower limit. Always follow the vehicle manufacturer's guidance.
