Whatever your task at hand -- whether it's launching that boat before daybreak, setting up your camper before the rush or getting a final load to the dump before close -- CURT class 3 trailer hitches offer the strength needed for serious towing. They make it easy to hitch up and Bring It, offering a vehicle-specific fit and the weight capacity to handle a variety of trailers. Custom class 3 hitches are the most common type of receiver hitch for pickup trucks and SUVs. Because of their weight range, they are also found on full-size cars, crossovers and minivans. Each custom-fit class 3 hitch package is made for vehicle-specific mounting. This particular kit fits certain years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, LD, Limited and GMC Sierra 1500, LD, Limited (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 6,000 lbs. GTW and 600 lbs. TW. It is also compatible with a weight distribution hitch for level towing and a rating of 10,000 lbs. WD and 1,000 lbs. WDTW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. We also protect our class 3 hitches in a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and black powder coat for superior resistance to rust, chipping and UV damage.

Yes, Curt part number 13301 is designed for Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks. However, installation steps differ by model year. For 2014 and newer non-hitch equipped vehicles, you must first remove the factory light duty bumper mount hitch. For prior years, you proceed directly to hitch installation using existing frame rail holes.
The hitch weight is 60 lbs.
The manual specifies gross load capacity for two configurations: 6,000 lbs. trailer weight and 600 lbs. tongue weight when used as a weight-carrying hitch; 10,000 lbs. trailer weight and 1,000 lbs. tongue weight when used as a weight-distribution hitch. However, you must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower.
No, drilling is not required. The hitch uses existing frame rail holes and weldnuts on your vehicle.
You will need: a ratchet, torque wrench, 12" extension, 3/4" wrench, 3/4" socket, and 22mm socket.
The kit includes: (4) 1/2-13 x 1 3/4" carriage bolts, (4) 0.250 x 1.50 x 2.00" square hole spacers (part CM-SP1), (4) hex flange nuts (HFN 1213), (2) M14-2 x 40mm hex bolts, and (2) 9/16" conical toothed washers.
Yes, you must temporarily lower the spare tire for ease of installation. After completing the hitch installation, you will reinstall the spare tire.
Only if your vehicle is a 2014 or newer model equipped with a factory light duty bumper mount hitch. If your 2014+ model does not have this hitch, or if your vehicle is prior to 2014, you do not need to remove anything. The manual provides detailed removal steps for the factory hitch if present.
All 1/2" hardware (carriage bolts, spacers, and flange nuts) must be torqued to 110 ft-lbs.
All M14 hardware must be torqued to 103 ft-lbs.
Professional installation takes approximately 60 minutes. DIY installation by a novice takes approximately 43 minutes.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This ongoing inspection helps ensure safe operation.
