They make it easy to hitch up and Bring It, offering a vehicle-specific fit and the weight capacity to handle a variety of trailers. Custom class 3 hitches are the most common type of receiver hitch for pickup trucks and SUVs. Because of their weight range, they are also found on full-size cars, crossovers and minivans. Each custom-fit class 3 hitch package is made for vehicle-specific mounting. This particular kit fits certain years of the Dodge Sprinter 2500 or 3500, Freightliner Sprinter 2500 or Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 or 3500 (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 5,000 lbs. GTW and 500 lbs. TW. It is also compatible with a weight distribution hitch for level towing and a rating of 7,500 lbs. WD and 750 lbs. WDTW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. We also protect our class 3 hitches in a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and black powder coat for superior resistance to rust, chipping and UV damage.

The Curt 13358 receiver hitch fits Sprinter 2500 and 3500 vans (all model years) with a factory step bumper and either 144" or 170" wheelbase. It does not fit the 3500 with a 144" wheelbase. Your van must have the factory step bumper installed for this hitch to be compatible.

Yes. The Curt 13358 is designed for Sprinter vans equipped with a factory step bumper. The installation uses the existing bumper mounting bracket bolts to secure the hitch to the frame. Without a factory step bumper, the mounting points will not be available.
You will need a 3/8" ratchet, an 18 mm deep well socket, and an 18 mm box end wrench. No power tools or specialized equipment are required.
The kit includes two M12×1.75 hex cap screws (HHCS) grade 10.9 (part 10-10283), two M12×1.75 flange nuts grade 10 (part 20-00176), and two 0.375" × 1.25" × 2.00" round hole spacers (part CM-SP56). These are installed into the existing bumper mounting bracket holes.
No. The Curt 13358 requires no drilling. It uses the existing bumper mounting bracket bolt holes on your Sprinter van.
The manual does not specify whether battery disconnection is required. Contact Curt Manufacturing or consult a qualified installer if you are uncertain.
Remove one bolt and nut at a time. Do not remove all bolts and nuts simultaneously, as this will cause the step bumper to fall and risk personal injury or damage. There are three bolts per side (six total). Remove the nut first, then the bolt, then reverse the bolt and reinstall it from inside the frame outward.
Remove each existing bolt one at a time and reverse its placement so the head faces inward (toward the inside of the frame). Insert the bolt from inside the frame outward through the bumper mounting bracket hole, pushing it three-quarters of the way through the frame. Then push the remainder of the bolt through and fasten with the provided nut.
The two 0.375" × 1.25" × 2.00" round hole spacers (part CM-SP56) are placed into the existing bumper mounting bracket holes as shown in the side view diagram. They are installed before the hitch is raised into position.
All M12 fasteners must be torqued to 79 lb-ft.
The manual does not provide the specific gross load capacity values. It states that you must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. Contact Curt Manufacturing or your vehicle dealer for the exact capacity ratings for your Sprinter model.
Periodically check that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This is especially important before towing. Ensure the hitch is secure and shows no signs of damage or movement.
