This fits: 2007 GMC Sierra 3500 Classic Factory replacement hitch
When we came to the limits of towing capacity, we wanted to know what else was out there. What could we discover off the beaten path? So, we kept going. CURT class 5 Xtra Duty hitches begin a class of their own, beyond class 4 and beyond anything the standards dictate. They are designed for the hard road where only full-size pickup trucks, vans and SUVs dare to tread. They are capable of pulling almost any heavy-duty trailer, including toy haulers, dump trailers, logging trailers, small yacht trailers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component). This particular Xtra Duty class 5 trailer hitch offers a gross trailer weight capacity of 16,000 lbs. and an extra-high tongue weight capacity of 2,400 lbs. It features a 2" x 2" receiver tube opening to accept a ball mount or hitch-mounted accessory, such as a cargo carrier or winch mount. It is designed to be a custom-fit trailer hitch for certain years of the long-bed Chevy Silverado 2500, 2500 HD, 2500 HD Classic, 3500, 3500 HD or 3500 Classic and long-bed GMC Sierra 2500, 2500 HD, 2500 HD Classic, 3500, 3500 HD or 3500 Classic (to verify compatibility with your vehicle, see application info). For a little extra towing power and stability, this class 5 hitch can also be used in combination with a weight distributing hitch. It is rated for 17,000 lbs. WD and 2,400 lbs. WDTW. In our drive to create a more powerful hitch, CURT has not neglected the finer details. Our class 5 trailer hitches are welded with precision and go through multiple stages of cleaning to create a smooth surface that is ready to accept our co-cured finish. To protect them from corrosion, chipping and UV damage, these hitches are immersed in a liquid A-coat and then finished in a high-quality black carbide powder coat. They come with grade-8 mounting hardware for solid installation.
Trailer hitch weight ratings are limited to vehicle manufacturer's stated capacities

Contact Curt Manufacturing technical support at 1-877-287-8634 for the specific capacity ratings for your application.
Yes. The manual states to remove the spare tire for ease of installation in Step 1, and to reinstall it in Step 6 after the hitch is fully installed and torqued.
You will need: a socket wrench, a torque wrench, a 21mm socket, a socket extension, and a 3/4" socket.
No. The manual explicitly states "NO DRILLING REQUIRED."
The hitch includes: 4× 1/2-13 UNC carriage bolts, 1-3/4" grade 8 (part 10-10272); 4× 1/2-13 UNC serrated flange nuts, grade 8 (part 20-00062); 2× 0.250 × 1.25 × 2.00" square hole spacers (part CM-SP3); and 2× 0.250 × 1.25 × 3.00" square hole spacers (part CM-SP19). The existing 14mm bolts and weldnuts on your frame rails are reused.
1. Remove the spare tire. 2. Remove the existing 14mm bolts from the bumper bracket on both sides and save them. 3. Raise the hitch and align it with the weldnuts from the removed 14mm bolts. 4. Reinstall the 14mm bolts on both sides. 5. Install 1/2-13 carriage bolts with SP19 spacers in the forward-most holes and 1/2-13 carriage bolts with SP3 spacers in the middle holes; install 1/2-13 hex flange nuts onto all carriage bolts. 6. Reinstall the spare tire. 7. Torque all fasteners.
Torque all 1/2" hardware (carriage bolts and hex flange nuts) to 110 ft-lbs.
Torque all 14mm hardware to 126 ft-lbs.
Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The hitch itself has a gross load capacity, but your vehicle's frame, suspension, brakes, and engine have limits set by the manufacturer. Always follow the vehicle manufacturer's specifications, which are typically found in your owner's manual or on a placard inside the driver's door jamb.
Periodically check the hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. The manual does not specify an exact interval, but regular inspection before towing trips is recommended.
