They make it easy to hitch up and Bring It, offering a vehicle-specific fit and the weight capacity to handle a variety of trailers. Custom class 3 hitches are the most common type of receiver hitch for pickup trucks and SUVs. Because of their weight range, they are also found on full-size cars, crossovers and minivans. Each custom-fit class 3 hitch package is made for vehicle-specific mounting. This particular kit fits certain years of the Nissan Xterra (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 4,000 lbs. GTW and 400 lbs. TW. It is also compatible with a weight distribution hitch for level towing and a rating of 6,000 lbs. WD and 600 lbs. WDTW. This particular 7-way RV blade socket is designed to be a custom wiring option for certain years of the Nissan Frontier, Pathfinder, Xterra and Suzuki Equator (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch includes: four M12 hex tap bolts (part 10-10269), four 9/16" lock washers (part 30-00194), two M14 hex tap bolts (part 10-10275), and two 1/2" conical washers (part 30-00149). The lower bumper bracket bolts are removed and discarded; they are not reused.
1. Lower the spare tire. 2. Lower the exhaust by removing three bolts from the exhaust hanger bracket. 3. Remove the lower two bumper bracket bolts on both sides (discard them; do not remove the top bolt). 4. Raise the hitch into position over the exhaust and finger-tighten with M12 hex bolts and conical washers. 5. Install the remaining M14 hex bolts and lock washers through the hitch and bumper bracket. 6. Reinstall the exhaust hanger bracket. 7. Torque all M12 fasteners to 86 lb-ft and all M14 fasteners to 136 lb-ft. 8. Reinstall the spare tire.
The exhaust must be lowered to provide clearance for the hitch to be raised into position. The exhaust hanger bracket is removed by taking out three bolts, and these bolts are reused to reinstall the bracket after the hitch is secured.
