Each is made to fit a specific vehicle, providing easier installation, a better fit and optimal towing capacity. Custom class 1 trailer hitches are available for a variety of smaller vehicle types, including the compact car, crossover, minivan and small SUV. This particular class 1 hitch is designed to be a custom hitch for certain years of the Nissan Cube (to verify vehicle compatibility, see the CURT application guide at curtmfg.com). Tested in accordance with SAE J684, it offers a weight carrying capacity of 2,000 lbs. GTW and 200 lbs. TW. It is equipped with 1-1/4" receiver tube opening to accept a ball mount shank or other hitch mount. This class 1 hitch also comes with all necessary mounting hardware. With its lightweight design and smaller receiver tube size, a class 1 hitch is especially useful for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier. They can also typically be used to tow small trailers such as a utility trailer, kayak trailer or teardrop camper (never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component; i.e. the vehicle, hitch, trailer, etc). Though CURT class 1 trailer hitches are only intended for light-duty towing, we apply the same principles of quality as we do to the rest of our rear mount hitches. Each class 1 hitch is made with hands-on engineering, high-strength steel and precise welding. We use a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat, inside and out, and durable black powder coat to provide a lasting defense against rust, chips and UV rays.

The kit includes: 2× 7/16"-14 UNC 1-1/2" grade 8 carriage bolts (part 10-10282); 1× M10×1.25 35mm class 10.9 hex head cap screw (part 10-10298); 2× 7/16"-14 UNC grade 8 serrated flange nuts (part 20-00103); 3× M10×1.25 class 8.8 hex nuts (part 20-00198); 4× 7/16" split-cone washers (part 30-00163); 2× 0.250" × 1.00" × 2.00" square hole spacers (part CM-SP7); and 2× 7/16" fishwire.
Yes. Using a 16mm wrench, remove the three factory bolts and the factory tow hook on the passenger side of the vehicle. Save the factory hardware as it will be reused in step 6. Return the tow hook to the vehicle owner.
You do not need to remove the entire exhaust system. However, you must remove the rear-most rubber isolator from the top exhaust hanger. After raising the hitch into position, you will reinstall this rubber isolator onto the new exhaust hanger located on the driver side plate of the hitch.
Yes. You must enlarge the access hole on the driver side frame rail enough to allow the CM-SP7 spacer to pass through. A rotary tool is required for this operation.
The manual specifies that the access hole must be enlarged enough to allow the CM-SP7 spacer (0.250" × 1.00" × 2.00") to pass through, but does not provide an exact hole diameter. Refer to the hole enlargement diagram in the manual or contact Curt technical support at 1-877-287-8634 for specific dimensions.
All 7/16" fasteners must be torqued to 70 lb-ft.
