This class 1 trailer hitch and ball mount combination is designed for a custom fit on select years of the Buick Verano and Chevrolet Cruze (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. No matter where you're headed or which season of the year you’re towing in, this CURT hitch is equipped for long-lasting resilience to the elements. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.

No. This hitch installation requires no drilling. It uses existing frame holes and access holes, and fasteners are installed using the fishwire technique to thread hardware through the frame.
Only if a heat shield is present on your vehicle. If present, you must trim it to access the frame access hole. The trim dimensions are approximately 2.50 inches by 2.25 inches, but you should confirm the exact dimensions on your vehicle before trimming. Use aviation shears for this task.
Yes. Before installation, lower the exhaust by removing two rubber isolators from the muffler towards the center of the vehicle and removing the bolt securing the rearmost hanger to the frame. After the hitch is secured, raise the exhaust back into position. Note that exhaust configuration varies depending on the model.
Two people may be required to ease installation. While one person may be able to complete the installation, having a second person will help with managing the exhaust system, positioning the hitch, and securing fasteners.
All 7/16" hardware (carriage bolts and flange nuts) must be torqued to 70 ft-lbs. Use a calibrated torque wrench to ensure proper tightness. This is the final step after the hitch is raised into position.
The hitch includes: 4 hex flange nuts (7/16-14), 4 carriage bolts (7/16-14 x 1 1/4"), 4 square hole spacers (CM-SP2, .250 x .88 x 2.25"), and 2 pieces of 7/16" fishwire. All fasteners are 7/16" size and use the fishwire installation technique.
The fishwire technique threads the 7/16" carriage bolts and CM-SP2 spacers through the frame access holes and out the mounting holes. The bolts are then secured with 7/16" flange nuts. A fishwire technique diagram is provided on page 2 of the manual for visual reference.
