All of our custom hitches are designed for a vehicle-specific fit, manufactured with pride, finished for industry-leading rust resistance and tested to rigorous SAE J684 standards for safety. This class 1 trailer hitch and ball mount combination is designed for a custom fit on select years of the Hyundai Accent and Kia Rio (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. No matter where you're headed or which season of the year you’re towing in, this CURT hitch is equipped for long-lasting resilience to the elements. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.

Required tools: ratchet, torque wrench, 11/16" socket, 9/16" socket, power drill, and 15/32" drill bit (for Rio sedan and Accent hatchback only). Safety glasses should be worn at all times.
Torque all 3/8" fasteners to 45 lb-ft and all 7/16" fasteners to 70 lb-ft.
Non-trailer (wheel-less) loads are permitted only if supported by Curt 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads voids the product warranty.

The kit includes: (2) 7/16-14 x 1 1/4" carriage bolts, (3) 7/16-14 hex flange nuts, (3) CM-SP2 square hole spacers (0.250 x 0.88 x 2.25"), (1) CM-SP34 round hole spacer (0.188 x 1.50 x 3.00"), (1) 3/8-16 x 1 1/2" hex bolt, (1) 3/8" washer, (1) HFN3816 hex flange nut, (2) 7/16" fishwire, and (1) 7/16-14 x 1 1/2" carriage bolt.
Yes. If present, remove rubber plugs from frame holes and return them to the vehicle owner. The plugs are located on both the driver side and passenger side frame rails.
The fishwire technique is used to route fasteners through frame access holes. Step 3 instructs: Fishwire (1) 7/16" carriage bolt and (1) CM-SP2 spacer through the access hole into the forward hole on the driver side. Reverse fishwire (1) 7/16" carriage bolt and (1) CM-SP2 spacer into the access hole on each side. The access hole location will vary depending on the vehicle model. Refer to the installation walkthrough diagrams for the "Reverse Pull Fishwire Technique & Fishwire Technique" illustrations.
No. The Hyundai Accent sedan does not require drilling. However, the Kia Rio sedan and Hyundai Accent hatchback require drilling with a 15/32" drill bit on the driver side frame rail.
A 15/32" drill bit is required. The hole is marked on the driver side frame rail after raising the hitch into position with the tow loop mounting tab resting on top of the tow hook.
No. In step 4, after raising the hitch back into position, loosely install the (3) 7/16" hex flange nuts. Do not fully tighten them until step 6, when all fasteners are torqued to specification: 3/8" fasteners to 45 lb-ft and 7/16" fasteners to 70 lb-ft.
The CM-SP34 spacer (0.188 x 1.50 x 3.00" round hole spacer) is installed with the 3/8" hardware onto the vehicle tow loop, as shown in step 5 of the installation walkthrough.
Three CM-SP2 spacers (0.250 x 0.88 x 2.25" square hole spacers) are included in the kit. Two are used during the fishwire installation in step 3, and one additional spacer is included as a spare.
Two people may be required to ease installation. The manual notes that using proper tools will greatly improve the quality of the install and reduce the time required.
