This class 1 trailer hitch and ball mount combination is designed for a custom fit on select years of the Kia Soul (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. No matter where you're headed or which season of the year you’re towing in, this CURT hitch is equipped for long-lasting resilience to the elements. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.

You must remove the wheel well liners and splash shields from both rear wheel wells by removing push fasteners and screws. The exhaust must be lowered by removing the rearmost rubber isolator from the hanger. Optionally, the canister can be removed for easier installation by removing 3 nuts and disengaging spring clips.
Two people may be required to ease installation. However, the manual does not specify whether a second person is mandatory or optional.
All M10 hex bolts must be torqued to 48 ft-lbs. This is applied after the hitch is raised into position and aligned with the frame rail holes.
1. Remove wheel well liners and splash shields from both rear wheel wells. 2. Lower the exhaust by removing the rearmost rubber isolator. 3. Optionally remove the canister for easier access. 4. Raise the hitch into position and align side plate holes with frame rail holes. 5. Secure with 7/16" conical toothed washers and M10 hex bolts, torqued to 48 ft-lbs. 6. Raise exhaust back into position and reattach canister if removed. 7. Reinstall wheel well liners and splash shields.
Trimming of the driver's wheel well liner may be required to provide clearance for the driver side plate. This is noted as a potential requirement during reinstallation of the wheel well liners.
Safety glasses should be worn at all times while installing this product. Be careful around the brake lines and canister during installation. Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity when using the hitch.
All non-trailer (wheel-less) loads must be supported by CURT 18050 Stabilizing Straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. This requirement applies to all loads that are not traditional trailers.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound. This ongoing inspection is critical to safe operation of the hitch.
