This class 1 trailer hitch and ball mount combination is designed for a custom fit on select years of the Nissan Micra (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 1,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 100 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. No matter where you're headed or which season of the year you’re towing in, this CURT hitch is equipped for long-lasting resilience to the elements. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.

The hitch is rated for a maximum of 1,000 lbs. trailer weight and 100 lbs. tongue weight when used as a weight-carrying hitch. However, you must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower.
Non-trailer (wheel-less) loads can be applied to this hitch, but they must be supported by CURT 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads with these straps will void the product warranty.
The hitch is designed for use with CURT ball mount 45521. Euro mount options are available: part 45571 (1 7/8" ball) or part 45572 (2" ball).
You will need: a ratchet, a torque wrench, 11/16" and 3/4" sockets, a panel removal tool, masking tape, aviation shears, and safety glasses. Safety glasses must be worn at all times during installation.

Before beginning installation, read all instructions thoroughly. You will need to temporarily remove the underbody panel and lower the exhaust. The underbody panel is held by 6 plastic push-pins that must be removed using a panel removal tool.
Yes, trimming of the underbody panel is required. You must mark out a 2.375" × 2.25" section centered on the panel using masking tape and trim it using aviation shears. You must also trim off the driver side of the panel from the far most clip using aviation shears. These dimensions are approximate; confirm fit prior to final installation.
Torque all 7/16" hardware to 59 ft-lbs. and all 1/2" hardware to 110 ft-lbs. This includes the frame mounting bolts and the tow loop mounting bolt.
The hitch includes: 3 spacers (CM-SP16, .250 × 1.50 × 2.00" round hole), 2 carriage bolts (7/16-14 × 1 1/2"), 2 hex flange nuts (7/16-14), 1 carriage bolt (1/2-13 × 1 3/4", Grade 8), and 1 hex flange nut (HFN 1213, Grade 8).
Three spacers (CM-SP16) are used: one on each side when raising the hitch into position using the 7/16" bolts on the frame, and one when securing the hitch to the tow loop using the 1/2" bolt.
1. Remove 2 rubber isolator brackets and lower the exhaust. Remove 6 plastic push-pins from the underbody panel using a panel removal tool, then remove and set aside the panel. 2. Raise the hitch into position using one 7/16" bolt and one CM-SP16 spacer on each side; loosely secure with 7/16" hex flange nuts. 3. Secure the hitch to the tow loop using one 1/2" bolt, one CM-SP16 spacer, and one 1/2" hex flange nut. Torque 7/16" hardware to 59 ft-lbs. and 1/2" hardware to 110 ft-lbs. 4. Mark and trim the underbody panel as specified, then reinstall it in reverse order.
No. When raising the hitch into position in step 2, you should loosely secure the 7/16" hex flange nuts. All fasteners are torqued to their final specifications in step 3: 7/16" hardware to 59 ft-lbs. and 1/2" hardware to 110 ft-lbs.
After installation, periodically check that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This ongoing inspection is important for safe operation.
