The Tekonsha Brakeman IV digital trailer brake controller provides safety and connection when you need it most. As a time-based controller, the Brakeman IV is a great choice for basic, light-duty towing needs. This compact controller works by electronically connecting your vehicle and your trailer. When you hit the brakes in your tow vehicle, it generates an output signal that ramps up, or increases over a period of time, applying braking power to your trailer at a fixed rate. The Brakeman IV has up-front buttons so you can easily adjust power output, the sync ? or aggressiveness with which the controller applies the brakes, and engage manual override to help you brake safely when an unexpected stop pops up. It also works with electric or electric over hydraulic braking systems, and features advanced internal circuit protection, real time comprehensive diagnostics, and short circuit protection. Because the Brakeman IV is a time-based controller, there?s no requirement that it be positioned in the direction of travel; it can be installed anywhere you like as long as it is within reach of the driver. Plus, the Plug & Play feature allows for quick and easy connection with your vehicle?s wiring. The Brakeman IV trailer brake controller works with1-4 axle trailers, comes with all the mounting hardware needed for installation, and is backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

Reese Towpower delivers the towing hardware most drivers reach for: receiver hitches across multiple classes, ball mounts, hitch balls, pins, clips, safety chains, wiring and hitch accessories. Backed by a towing pedigree dating to 1952, the line uses all-welded construction and corrosion-resistant finishes, with custom-fit hitches matched to vehicle make, model and year.
The Reese story starts in 1952, when Margaret Reese challenged her husband TJ to do something about travel trailers rocking whenever anyone walked through them. A few years later he built the first pair of stabilising jacks. The idea was simple and it worked, and it changed how the RV industry thought about trailer stability. From that beginning the Reese name grew into a full towing line covering fifth wheel hitches, pin boxes, weight distribution systems and accessories, and Reese Towpower carries that engineering into the products most owners buy off the shelf.
Receiver trailer hitches anchor the range, offered across the classes needed for everything from a small utility trailer to livestock and job-site loads. Construction is all-welded rather than bolted at the stress points, and each hitch is tested against published standards for strength and safety. Custom-fit hitches are engineered to the vehicle manufacturer's weight specifications for a given model and model year, so mounting points line up with existing frame holes and the finished installation sits where it should. Exclusive paint finishes resist rust and corrosion through years of road salt, and hitches carry a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
No towing setup is complete without the connecting hardware, and Reese Towpower covers it comprehensively. Ball mounts come in fixed, adjustable and specialty forms with a range of rises and drops to level a trailer properly. Hitch balls are offered in the standard diameters and shank sizes, matched to coupler and load rating.
The towing accessories line fills in everything else: hitch pins and clips, locks, receiver tube covers, and safety chains rated to the load being pulled. For most drivers this is where a towing purchase actually begins, and having the whole chain of components from one engineering source keeps ratings consistent end to end.

The adapter is designed for Chevrolet pickup trucks equipped with a black Electric Junction Box located under the dashboard, left of the steering column, just above the carpet. Confirm your vehicle has this junction box before purchasing. The manual does not specify which model years or cab styles are compatible, so contact the manufacturer or your installer to verify fitment for your specific truck.
The kit includes the T-Connector adapter housing (containing female terminals on the wire side) and butt connectors. The manual does not specify the exact quantity of butt connectors or list any other included hardware. Refer to your kit contents or contact the manufacturer if components are missing.
You will need a trim panel remover and wire crimpers. The trim panel remover is used to access the Electric Junction Box under the dashboard. Wire crimpers are required to attach the butt connectors (if using the 1 Plug Option) to the adapter and brake control wires.
The black Electric Junction Box is located in the interior of the pickup, underneath the dashboard, left of the steering column, just above the carpet. You will need to remove the cover to access the mating connection point for the electric trailer brakes.
Option 1 (Plug Option): Use the provided butt connectors to attach the adapter wires to the corresponding wires on the electric brake control, following the brake control manufacturer's instructions, before connecting to the vehicle junction box. Option 2 (Plug Option): Plug the brake control adapter directly into the mating receptacle on the back of the brake control before connecting to the vehicle junction box. Choose the method that matches your brake control design.
Yes. You must follow all brake control manufacturer's installation instructions in addition to the T-Connector instructions. The adapter connects between your vehicle's junction box and the brake control, so both sets of instructions must be completed. Mount the brake control unit as directed by its manufacturer and perform all test procedures as instructed.
Do not exceed the lower of your towing manufacturer's rating or a maximum of 4 axles with 8 brakes (24 amps). Overloading the circuit can cause fires. Consult your vehicle's owner's manual and the brake control instruction sheet for additional information on your specific towing capacity.
