All of our custom hitches are designed for a vehicle-specific fit, manufactured with pride, finished for industry-leading rust resistance and tested to rigorous SAE J684 standards for safety. This class 1 trailer hitch and ball mount combination is designed for a custom fit on select years of the Hyundai Ioniq (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. No matter where you're headed or which season of the year you’re towing in, this CURT hitch is equipped for long-lasting resilience to the elements. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.

The CURT 11486 hitch is rated for a maximum of 2,000 lbs trailer weight and 200 lbs tongue weight. However, you must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower. Check your vehicle's owner manual for the final towing limit.
The CURT 11486 is designed for use with ball mount #45521. Euro mount options are also available: #45571 (1 7/8" ball) and #45572 (2" ball).
You will need: a ratchet, 10mm socket, 17mm socket, torque wrench, rotary tool (for underbody panel trimming), and safety glasses. An 11mm socket is also required to remove the underbody panel fasteners.
Yes. You must remove the underbody panel from the driver side frame rail by removing 4 plastic fasteners and 2 nuts using an 11mm socket. Save this panel—you will trim and reinstall it after the hitch is mounted.
Yes. After removing the underbody panel, you must trim it using a rotary tool according to the trim diagram provided in the manual. The trim diagram shows a 1.00 inch measurement as reference. The trimmed panel is then reinstalled after the hitch is mounted and torqued.
1. Remove the underbody panel from the driver side frame rail (4 plastic fasteners and 2 nuts, 11mm socket). 2. Raise the hitch into position, placing the passenger side first. 3. Loosely install the 4 M10 bolts and conical toothed washers. 4. Torque all hardware to 48 ft-lbs. 5. Trim the underbody panel using the trim diagram and reinstall it.
All 4 M10 bolts must be torqued to 48 ft-lbs. Use a torque wrench to ensure proper tightness. Do not exceed this specification.
The hitch includes 4 M10 hex bolts (M10 - 1.25 x 30) and 4 conical toothed washers (3/8"). The hitch mounts to existing weldnuts on both the driver and passenger side frame rails.
All non-trailer loads (wheel-less loads) applied to this hitch must be supported by CURT 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. See the CURT catalog or www.curtmfg.com for further information on stabilizing straps.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times during installation. Read all instructions thoroughly before beginning. If you are hesitant to undertake this task, contact an authorized CURT installer for assistance. Technical support is available at 800.798.0813.
Two people may be required to ease installation. While one person may be able to complete the installation, having a second person can improve the quality of the install and reduce installation time.
After installation, periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound. This maintenance is important for safe operation and to maintain warranty coverage.
CURT Manufacturing warrants this product to be free of defects in material and workmanship at the time of retail purchase by the original purchaser. If defective, CURT may repair or replace the product at their option when returned prepaid with proof of purchase. Alteration, misuse, or improper installation voids the warranty. CURT's liability is limited to repair or replacement and excludes incidental or consequential loss or damage.
The CURT 11486 complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.

No drilling is required. The hitch mounts to existing weldnuts on the frame rails. However, trimming of the underbody panel using a rotary tool is required.
Required tools: ratchet, 10mm and 17mm sockets, 11mm socket, torque wrench, rotary tool, and safety glasses. Proper tools will greatly improve installation quality and reduce installation time.
