They make it easy to hitch up and Bring It, offering a vehicle-specific fit and the weight capacity to handle a variety of trailers. Custom class 3 hitches are the most common type of receiver hitch for pickup trucks and SUVs. Because of their weight range, they are also found on full-size cars, crossovers and minivans. Each custom-fit class 3 hitch package is made for vehicle-specific mounting. This particular kit fits certain years of the Cadillac XT5 (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 5,000 lbs. GTW and 750 lbs. TW. It is also compatible with a weight distribution hitch for level towing and a rating of 6,000 lbs. WD and 750 lbs. WDTW. Remove the access panel by using a 7mm socket to remove the 2 screws, then pull the access panel straight down and away from the vehicle. Set the panel and screws aside for reinstallation.
Use the fishwire technique to route 3 CM-SP2 spacers and 3 carriage bolts through the access hole and out the mounting holes on each side of the vehicle. The manual references a fishwire technique diagram for detailed routing instructions. Raise the hitch into position and secure with 3 flange nuts on each side.
All 7/16" hardware must be torqued to 70 ft-lbs using an 11/16" socket.
When the hitch is not in use, reinstall the access panel that was removed in step 1. Use the original 2 screws to secure it.

Make sure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place. 4. Route the other end of the wiring connector along the inside of the bumper towards the center of the vehicle to the 7-way mounting location. 5. Insert the 7-way connector end between the separated 7-way connectors. 6. Ensure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place.
