Connect to your lifestyle with a custom hitch receiver from CURT. All of our custom hitches are designed for a vehicle-specific fit, manufactured with pride, finished for industry-leading rust resistance and tested to rigorous SAE J684 standards for safety. This class 1 trailer hitch and ball mount combination is designed for a custom fit on select years of the Audi A4, A5 and S5 (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. No matter where you're headed or which season of the year you’re towing in, this CURT hitch is equipped for long-lasting resilience to the elements. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.
Installation requires fascia trimming and removal of drain plugs
Trailer hitch weight ratings are limited to vehicle manufacturer's stated capacities
Not compatible for use with vertical hanging bicycles (bike racks that require the bicycles to be hung / mounted vertically)

Yes, CURT part number 11448 is designed for 2017-Current Audi A4 Sedan models. Before purchasing, verify your vehicle matches this year range and body style (sedan). The hitch is a weight-carrying design rated for 2000 lbs trailer weight and 200 lbs tongue weight.
The CURT 11448 is rated for a maximum of 2000 lbs trailer weight and 200 lbs tongue weight when used as a weight-carrying hitch. You must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower than the hitch rating.
The CURT 11448 is designed for use with CURT ball mount #45521. Euro mount options are also available: #45571 (1 7/8" ball) or #45572 (2" ball). Consult the CURT catalog or website at www.curtmfg.com for compatibility and specifications.
No, the CURT 11448 is a no-drill application. However, fascia trimming is required. You will need to trim the rear plastic fascia using a rotary cutting tool to accommodate the hitch installation.
Required tools are: ratchet, 10mm socket, 3/4" socket, torque wrench, 6" socket extension, masking tape, utility knife, rotary cutting tool, silicone caulk, tape measure, and safety glasses. Safety glasses must be worn at all times during installation.
Two people may be required to ease installation. While one person may be able to complete the installation, having a second person will improve the quality of the install and reduce installation time.
Professional installation time is approximately 90 minutes. Novice (DIY) installation time is approximately 45 minutes. Actual time may vary depending on your experience level and familiarity with the vehicle.
The kit includes: (2) carriage bolts 1/2-13 x 1 3/4", (4) carriage bolts 1/2-13 x 4 1/2" Grade 5, (6) hex flange nuts HFN 1213 Grade 8, (2) 0.250" spacers (part 11448-SP), and (2) bolt plates (part 11448-BP). Two drain plugs are also included.
You must remove the spare tire and jack tool kit from inside the trunk before beginning installation. These items must be returned to the trunk after the hitch installation is complete and secured with a 10mm socket.
You do not need to completely remove the rear plastic fascia. You will remove (2) hex nuts holding it to the bottom of the trunk pan using a 10mm socket, then gently pull the fascia down to access the bumper beam. The fascia will be trimmed in place using a rotary cutting tool.
You must trim the rear plastic fascia using a rotary cutting tool. Mark the trim area using masking tape and a tape measure with dimensions of 5.00 inches wide by 5.50 inches tall by 2.0 inches deep. Use the rotary tool to cut the fascia according to these marked dimensions. The frame sealer should be cut with a utility knife first.
Insert the 11448-SP spacer and 1/2-13 x 1 1/2" carriage bolt into each drain hole with flanges outward. Secure the hardware to the hitch with a 1/2" hex flange nut. The drain holes in the trunk pan should be sealed with silicone caulk before inserting the bolts.
Torque the (4) hex flange nuts securing the 1/2-13 x 4 1/2" bolts to the side plates to 75 ft-lbs. Torque the (2) hex flange nuts securing the mounting plate to 110 ft-lbs. Use a torque wrench to ensure proper tightness.
Detach the hands-free trunk release cable from the rear fascia and move it away from the trim area before beginning the trimming process. After installation is complete, reinstall the sensor into its clips and guide it across the trim area and behind the mounting plate.
The (2) rearmost rubber drain plugs removed from the bottom of the trunk pan should be returned to the vehicle owner. The drain holes should then be sealed with silicone caulk before the hitch mounting bolts are inserted.
No. In Step 6, you loosely secure the hitch using (4) 1/2" hex flange nuts. The hitch is then positioned and the drain holes are sealed with silicone caulk in Step 7. Final torquing to specification (75 ft-lbs and 110 ft-lbs) occurs in Step 8 after all components are in place.
All non-trailer loads applied to the CURT 11448 must be supported by CURT 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. For more information about stabilizing straps, see the CURT catalog or visit www.curtmfg.com.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This ongoing inspection helps maintain the integrity and safety of the installation.
