1. Locate the 5-pin vehicle brake control harness connector under the dash, left of the steering column, near the emergency brake pedal. 2. Insert the CURT brake control harness connector into the vehicle connector, ensuring it is fully inserted with locking tabs in place. 3. Insert the black connector on the CURT harness into the brake control unit's quick plug connector. 4. Secure the harness with the provided cable ties, avoiding pinch points.
When connecting the CURT brake control harness connector to the vehicle connector, push it in until it seats completely and the locking tabs on the connector engage. This ensures a secure, reliable connection. If the connector does not feel fully seated or the tabs do not lock, remove it and reinsert it.
