Whatever your task at hand -- whether it's launching that boat before daybreak, setting up your camper before the rush or getting a final load to the dump before close -- CURT class 3 trailer hitches offer the strength needed for serious towing. They make it easy to hitch up and Bring It, offering a vehicle-specific fit and the weight capacity to handle a variety of trailers. Custom class 3 hitches are the most common type of receiver hitch for pickup trucks and SUVs. Because of their weight range, they are also found on full-size cars, crossovers and minivans. Each custom-fit class 3 hitch package is made for vehicle-specific mounting. This particular kit fits certain years of the Mazda CX-70 and CX-90 (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 5,000 lbs. GTW and 500 lbs. TW. It is also compatible with a weight distribution hitch for level towing and a rating of 5,000 lbs. WD and 500 lbs. WDTW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. We also protect our class 3 hitches in a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and black powder coat for superior resistance to rust, chipping and UV damage.
Trailer hitch weight ratings are limited to vehicle manufacturer's stated capacities
Not compatible for use with vertical hanging bicycles (bike racks that require the bicycles to be hung / mounted vertically)

The CURT 13627 has a gross trailer weight (GTW) capacity of 5,000 lbs and a tongue weight (TW) capacity of 500 lbs. With weight distribution, the capacity is 5,500 lbs GTW and 550 lbs tongue weight (WDTW). Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.

You will need: ratchet, torque wrench, 22mm socket, 10mm socket, socket extension, small (flathead) screwdriver, pliers, and tape measure. A tools reference guide is available at curtmfg.com/trailer-hitch-installation.
The kit includes 4 hex bolts (M14-1.5 x 35mm) and 4 conical-toothed washers (9/16"). The hitch uses existing weldnuts on the vehicle frame rails.
You do not need to remove the entire bumper. The installation requires temporary removal of the bumper fascia support and the hitch door/panel to access the frame rails and weldnuts. The bumper fascia support is reinstalled after the hitch is secured.
First, remove ten push pin fasteners holding the bumper fascia to the bumper fascia support and hitch door using a flathead screwdriver. Remove two clips from the rearward edge of the hitch door with a straight screwdriver. Then remove two screws securing the bumper fascia support to the frame rails using a 10mm socket. Using pliers, twist the two plastic plug clips while gently pulling downward to remove them. Set the bumper fascia support aside for later reinstallation.
Remove the adhesive patches on the outer sides of the frame rails to access the 14mm weldnuts. To remove debris from the weldnuts, spray lubricant or compressed air into the hole. For heavy debris, use a wire brush. Take care not to damage the threads.
Before installing the hitch, measure the outside-to-outside distance of the side plates. The measurement must be no less than 44-5/8" and no more than 45". If the measurement falls outside this range, the plates must be adjusted into that range to ease installation.
Gently raise and slide the hitch into position with the main body tube resting in the bumper fascia area. Be careful not to damage any electrical components, wiring, or the bumper cover.
Loosely secure the hitch with the supplied M14-1.5 x 35mm hex bolts and 9/16" conical-toothed washers into the existing weldnuts on both frame rails. The conical-toothed washers should be oriented with the teeth facing the frame. Do not fully tighten at this stage.
Torque all 14mm fasteners (the M14-1.5 x 35mm hex bolts) to 136 lb-ft. Use a torque wrench to ensure proper tightening and prevent damage to the product or vehicle.
After torquing all fasteners, reinstall the support bracket with the hardware removed in Step 3 (two screws and two bolts using a 10mm socket). Reinstall the bumper fascia support back into position and reinstall the six push pins attaching the bumper fascia to the bumper fascia support.
Safety glasses should be worn at all times while installing this product. Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. Be careful not to damage electrical components, wiring, or the bumper cover during installation. Take care not to damage weldnut threads when cleaning them.
Periodic inspection of the trailer hitch should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight and structural components are secure. Refer to the specified torque specifications (136 lb-ft for all 14mm fasteners) when checking hardware during inspections.
