You will need: 17mm socket, 19mm socket, 8-inch ratchet extension, ratchet, torque wrench, and 19mm torque adapter. No power tools are required.
The hitch includes 4 M12x1.25 hex head cap screws (part 10-10275) and 4 conical tooth washers 1/2 inch (part 30-00149). These bolt into existing weldnuts on the vehicle frame rails.

Yes. Remove the stickers covering the holes on the outside of both frame rails. If your RAV4 is equipped with a tie-down bracket on the bottom of the passenger side frame rail, remove it and return it to the vehicle owner.
Two people may be required to ease installation. If you are hesitant to undertake this task on your own, contact an authorized CURT installer for assistance.
1. Remove stickers covering holes on the outside of both frame rails. 2. If equipped, remove the tie-down bracket from the bottom of the passenger side frame rail and return it to the vehicle owner. 3. Raise the hitch into position and loosely secure it with the supplied M12 bolts and 1/2-inch conical tooth washers. 4. Torque the M12 hardware to 86 ft-lbs.
Torque all M12 hardware to 86 ft-lbs using a torque wrench.
The hitch uses M12x1.25 hex head cap screws (HHCS) with a length of 35mm and class 10.9 strength rating. They are secured with 1/2-inch conical tooth washers and torqued to 86 ft-lbs.
Safety glasses should be worn at all times while installing this product.
All non-trailer (wheel-less) loads applied to this hitch must be supported by CURT 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. Consult the CURT catalog or visit www.curtmfg.com for further information about the 18050 straps.
Non-trailer loads (such as cargo carriers or roof boxes mounted directly to the hitch) are permitted only if they are fully supported by CURT 18050 stabilizing straps.
