Whatever your task at hand -- whether it's launching that boat before daybreak, setting up your camper before the rush or getting a final load to the dump before close -- CURT class 3 trailer hitches offer the strength needed for serious towing. They make it easy to hitch up and Bring It, offering a vehicle-specific fit and the weight capacity to handle a variety of trailers. Custom class 3 hitches are the most common type of receiver hitch for pickup trucks and SUVs. Because of their weight range, they are also found on full-size cars, crossovers and minivans. Each custom-fit class 3 hitch package is made for vehicle-specific mounting. This particular kit fits certain years of the Chrysler Town & Country, Chrysler Voyager, Dodge Caravan, Dodge Grand Caravan and Plymouth Voyager, excluding Stow 'n Go (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 4,000 lbs. GTW and 400 lbs. TW. It is also compatible with a weight distribution hitch for level towing and a rating of 5,000 lbs. WD and 500 lbs. WDTW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. We also protect our class 3 hitches in a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and black powder coat for superior resistance to rust, chipping and UV damage.
If your vehicle is not equipped with wiring for towing a trailer, CURT custom wiring is the ideal solution. A custom wiring harness -- also called a T-connector -- is a simple, plug-and-play electrical device that plugs into your automotive electric system and provides a standard, universal trailer wiring connection. This is done using two or more vehicle-specific, OEM-compatible connectors to plug into the taillight assembly, eliminating the need for cutting, splicing and soldering during installation. Custom wiring harnesses are made vehicle-specific, and while they are not available for all vehicles, they do offer one of the fastest, easiest and most secure ways to wire a vehicle for towing. This particular plug-in harness provides a 4-way flat connector socket and is designed to be a custom wiring harness to fit certain years of the Dodge Caravan, Dodge Grand Caravan, Dodge Durango, Chrysler Town and Country, Chrysler Voyager, Chrysler Grand Voyager, Plymouth Voyager and Plymouth Grand Voyager (to verify your vehicle compatibility, see application info). It comes with all necessary wiring components to establish a reliable trailer wiring connection, as well as a dust cover to keep the connector clean when not in use. You have a picture in mind of your next destination -- maybe it's the boat landing at your favorite fishing spot, maybe it's a campsite that overlooks one of nature's masterpieces, or maybe it's the next big jobsite. However, turning that picture into a reality takes more than just daydreaming. It takes a solid connection and the right amount of power. CURT custom wiring is made with some of the most sophisticated technology in the industry and is designed to install with ease, giving you a long-lasting electrical connection for your towing hitch setup.

The 96 - 00 Dodge Caravan Excluding Stow 'n Go and Sport Curt 2" Class 3 Trailer Tow Hitch + 5-Flat Wiring Kit Tow Boat/Utility Trailer with Surge Brakes 13362 (Part #5W-CHW-762) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
Part number 13362 is designed for 96-07 Chrysler Town & Country Van, 96-04 Plymouth Voyager Van, and 96-07 Dodge Caravan. It does not fit Stow & Go or Sport Caravan models. Verify your vehicle year, make, model and trim before purchasing.
The manual specifies gross load capacity ratings for both weight-carrying and weight-distribution modes, but the specific values are not printed in this copy. Contact Curt Manufacturing or your dealer with part number 13362 to obtain the exact trailer weight and tongue weight capacities. Always verify that your vehicle's towing capacity does not exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended limit.
The kit includes: four 1/2-13 UNC carriage bolts (1-1/2" long, Grade 8), four 0.250 x 1.00 x 2.00" square hole spacers, four 1/2-13 UNC serrated flange nuts (Grade 8), two 1/2" conical lockwashers, two M12x1.75 hex cap screws (35mm, Class 10.9), and two 1/2" fishwire tools.
A 9/16" drill bit is required if any mounting holes need to be drilled. The fishwire tools are provided in the kit to help route the carriage bolts and spacers through the frame access slot. You will need a wrench or socket set to torque the fasteners to specification (1/2" hardware to 110 lb/ft, M12 hardware to 79 lb/ft).
Drilling may be required. The hitch requires three mounting holes per side on the frame. If one or more holes are not already present, they must be drilled using a 9/16" drill bit. Use the hitch as a template to mark the hole locations before drilling.
1. Remove the rearmost bumper bracket bolt from the underside of the frame on both sides. 2. Locate the three mounting hole locations per side; drill any missing holes with a 9/16" bit. 3. Use the provided fishwire tool to insert carriage bolts and spacers through the frame access slot and out the mounting holes. 4. Raise the hitch into position and attach it to the frame using 1/2" flange nuts. 5. Install the M12 hex bolt and 1/2" conical lockwasher through the hitch into the bumper bracket. 6. Torque 1/2" hardware to 110 lb/ft and M12 hardware to 79 lb/ft.
If the frame access slot is not available, you may enlarge the square hole in the frame, or fish the hardware through the end of the vehicle frame behind the bumper. Note that there is a flexible plastic flap that the hardware must pass by during installation.
Torque the 1/2" hardware (carriage bolts and flange nuts) to 110 lb/ft. Torque the M12 hex bolt and conical lockwasher to 79 lb/ft.
Periodically check the hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This ongoing inspection helps maintain safe towing operation.
Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The hitch has its own load ratings, but your vehicle's capacity is the limiting factor. Consult your vehicle's owner manual for the maximum towing weight.
Yes, if it is a 96-07 Dodge Caravan. It does not fit Stow & Go or Sport models.
Possibly. The hitch requires three mounting holes per side. If any are missing, drill them with a 9/16" bit using the hitch as a template.
A 9/16" drill bit (if drilling is needed), a wrench or socket set for torquing fasteners, and the fishwire tools provided in the kit.
Torque 1/2" hardware to 110 lb/ft and M12 hardware to 79 lb/ft.
No. Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, even if the hitch is rated higher.
Periodically check all fasteners are tight and structural components are sound.
Yes, the Curt 55334 custom wiring harness is designed for Dodge Durango SUVs. It is also compatible with Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Caravan, Dodge Grand Caravan, Plymouth Grand Voyager, and Plymouth Voyager vehicles.
Yes, the Curt 55334 is compatible with Plymouth Voyager and Plymouth Grand Voyager models. It is designed for SUVs, mini and full-sized vans in the listed applications.
The 55334 has two circuit ratings: Signal Circuits are rated at 3.0 amps per side, and Tail/Running Circuits are rated at 6.0 amps total. Do not exceed the product rating or the tow vehicle lamp load rating, whichever is lower, as exceeding the rating can cause loss of warranty, overheating and potential fire.
You will need: Phillips screwdriver, flat blade screwdriver, panel trim removal tool, wire stripper, wire crimper, and cutting tool.
The harness includes a custom wiring harness with yellow and green wires, a black box, a 4-flat connector with housing, double-sided tape, cable ties, sealant, and a 4-flat dust cover.
The harness connects behind both taillight housings. The yellow wire harness connects to the driver side taillight (location S1), and the green wire harness connects to the passenger side taillight (location S2). The 4-flat connector is routed to the jack compartment for storage.
Yes. For both Durango and mini van installations, you must remove the two screws securing the taillight assembly and carefully pull it outward. You will then disconnect the vehicle wiring harness from both taillights by sliding the red locking tab to the unlocked position.
The main difference is the routing path. In a Durango, the harness is inserted behind the air baffle and routed through the interior panels. In a mini van, the harness is inserted behind the jack storage compartment and routed through the interior panels. Both require slitting the rubber grommets, securing the black box with double-sided tape and cable ties, and sealing the cuts with provided sealant.
Slit the rubber grommet as shown in the instructions. Place the custom wiring harness wires into the slit and reseat the grommet into its mounting location. Use the provided sealant to seal the cut in the grommet and around all the wires to prevent moisture and corrosion.
The black box should be secured to metal behind the rubber grommet (Durango) or behind the jack compartment (mini van) using the provided double-sided tape and cable ties.
Route the 4-flat connector into the jack compartment for storage. Install the provided 4-flat dust cover to help prevent corrosion.
Check for miscellaneous items that may be hidden behind or under any surface before drilling to avoid damage and personal injury. This is especially important when removing panels and accessing areas behind taillights and interior trim.
All steps must be followed to ensure the wiring harness will function properly. Once installed, test for proper function by using a test light or connecting a properly wired trailer.
Yes. When inserting the custom wiring harness between the separated vehicle connectors, make sure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place. This ensures proper electrical connection and function.
