No. The Curt 11088 requires no drilling. It uses existing weldnuts on both the driver and passenger side frame rails for attachment.
Two people may be required to ease installation. While one person may be able to complete the installation, having a second person available is recommended to help position the hitch and manage the exhaust during the process.
The first step is to remove the factory tow loop from the passenger side of the vehicle. Return the tow loop and its hardware to the vehicle owner.
The exhaust must be lowered to provide clearance for the hitch to be raised into position. Lower the exhaust by removing the three rubber isolators from the muffler. Wire may be used to hold the exhaust to prevent damage if it is lowered too far.
Secure the hitch using the supplied hardware: four M10-1.25 x 30 hex bolts with 7/16" conical toothed washers, and four M12-1.25 x 30mm hex bolts with 1/2" conical toothed washers. These bolt into the existing weldnuts on both the driver and passenger side frame rails.
Torque the M12-1.25 x 30mm hex bolts to 86 lb-ft.
Torque the M10-1.25 x 30 hex bolts to 48 lb-ft.
