It begins with a one-piece frame of 1/4" thick welded plates and 1-1/2" mandrel-bent tubing for a solid build. Each one is made with a vehicle-specific design for a better fit, easier install and more secure mounting. The side brush guards are custom-bent to contour to the profile of your vehicle, while the mounting brackets are positioned for a no-drill application. This means pre-existing factory holes are used to ensure optimum fitment and less vibration. This particular custom grille guard fits specific years of the Toyota Tundra (see application info to verify). The ARIES grille guard also makes it easy to customize the look of your vehicle. Not only does the crossbar have two pre-drilled holes for mounting aftermarket LED lights, but many of our grille guards are also available in two finish options -- polished stainless steel or semi-gloss black steel. The stainless steel grille guard is made with 304 stainless, being high in nickel content and truly resistant to rust and corrosion. This option comes with a mirror-like polished finish for a definitive shine. The semi-gloss black grille guard is made with high-strength carbon steel for added strength. It features a tough, dual-layer E-coat and black powder coat finish to protect against rust, scratches and the elements. All ARIES grille guards also come with rubber stripping along the risers to protect the frame against scuffs and scratches.

Yes, you must remove the factory tie downs from both the driver and passenger sides before installation. However, the manual notes that factory tie downs can be re-installed in conjunction with the grille guard if desired—they can be mounted over the mounting bracket.
The manual specifies that you need help to position the grille guard on the mounting brackets (step 10). At minimum, a second person is required for this step.
1. Remove factory tie downs from both sides. 2. Partially attach driver side mounting bracket using factory tie down bolts. 3. Repeat for passenger side. 4. Open hood and locate factory holes in headlight housing mounting support. 5. Insert 10mm double bolt plates from bottom of headlight housing. 6. Attach top support "L" brackets to bolt plates and fully tighten. 7. Partially attach top brackets to support "L" brackets. 8. With help, position grille guard on mounting brackets and attach with 12mm bolts (do not tighten yet). 9. Attach grille guard to top brackets using 10mm button head bolts. 10. Adjust grille guard and tighten all hardware.
The top support "L" brackets should be fully tightened immediately after attachment (step 7). All other fasteners are left partially attached until step 12, when the grille guard is properly adjusted and all hardware is tightened together.
The grille guard attaches to the mounting brackets using 6 pieces of 12-1.75mm x 30mm hex head bolts, 6 pieces of 12mm nylock nuts, and 6 pieces of 12.5mm ID x 30.1mm OD x 3.1mm flat washers. These should not be tightened until the grille guard is properly adjusted.
The grille guard attaches to the top brackets using 2 pieces of 10-1.50mm x 25mm button head bolts, 2 pieces of 10mm nylock nuts, and 2 pieces of 10.4mm ID x 21mm OD x 1.7mm flat washers.
Insert the 10mm double bolt plates from the bottom of the headlight housing mounting support, orienting them to the two inside (rear) factory holes so bolts come through toward the inside of the vehicle. Then attach the top support "L" brackets (with the 90-degree bend facing down) to the bolt plates using 2 pieces of 10mm nylock nuts and 2 pieces of 10.4mm ID x 21mm OD x 1.7mm flat washers per bracket. Fully tighten these at this time.
Each top bracket attaches to a top support "L" bracket using 1 piece of 10-1.50mm x 25mm hex head bolt, 1 piece of 10mm nylock nut, and 2 pieces of 10.4mm ID x 21mm OD x 1.7mm flat washers. These are partially attached during installation and fully tightened after the grille guard is adjusted.
The mounting brackets attach to the frame using the factory tie down bolts. The manual does not specify the size or quantity of these bolts, as they are original equipment on your vehicle.
Wax the grille guard after installation and regularly thereafter to add a protective layer. Do not use polish or wax containing abrasives, as these can damage the finish. For stainless steel finishes, aluminum polish may be used to polish small scratches and scuffs, and mild soap may be used for cleaning. For gloss black finishes, use only mild soap for cleaning.
