B&W Trailer Hitches is an American manufacturer known for durable, innovative towing products, including gooseneck hitches, fifth-wheel hitches, receiver hitches, and ball mounts. Built in Kansas by employee-owners, B&W products are engineered for dependable performance, easy installation, and long-lasting quality.
B&W Trailer Hitches is an American manufacturer known for building innovative, dependable towing products designed to make hitching easier and towing more comfortable. The company began in 1987 in Humboldt, Kansas, when founders Roger Baker and Joe Works combined their fabrication experience to build custom truck beds and solve common problems faced by truck owners.
B&W changed the gooseneck hitch industry with the introduction of the Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch. Its under-bed mounting system and reversible hitch ball allowed truck owners to quickly store the ball beneath the bed, leaving a clean and unobstructed surface when the hitch was not in use. B&W later applied the same practical approach to the Companion Fifth Wheel Hitch, creating a removable fifth-wheel hitch engineered for a quiet, smooth, and secure towing experience.
Today, B&W manufactures gooseneck hitches, fifth-wheel hitches, receiver hitches, ball mounts, and towing accessories at its nearly 600,000-square-foot facility. The company is owned by approximately 500 employee-owners who remain committed to American manufacturing, trusted materials, skilled craftsmanship, and long-lasting product quality.
Whether you are towing a work trailer, livestock trailer, camper, or fifth wheel, B&W Trailer Hitches offers thoughtfully engineered towing equipment built to perform mile after mile.

Call 888-634-9494No. The manual explicitly states that Turnoverball Gooseneck Extenders are not designed to be used with plastic bed liners or other additions to the bed floor that prohibit the extender from being fully seated inside the Turnoverball receiver socket or being engaged by the Turnoverball latch pin. You must remove any bed liner before installation.
The extender comes equipped with a 2-5/16" ball and requires trailers to have a 2-5/16" coupler. Towing with a larger coupler could cause loss of attachment between the trailer and the tow vehicle.
The extender has a 20,000 lb. Gross Towing Weight (GTW) capacity and a 5,000 lb. Vertical Tongue Weight (VTW) capacity. However, you must not exceed the tow or tongue rating of your coupler, hitch, truck, or trailer—whichever is lowest. Check your vehicle and trailer manufacturer information for their specific ratings.
1. Retract the latch pin handle and remove the 2-5/16" ball or other turnoverball accessory from the ball socket. 2. Place the square post of the extender into the Turnoverball socket so that the ball is closer to the rear of the pickup than the square post. 3. Engage the Turnoverball latch pin. 4. Make sure the latch pin fully engages the square post of the extender. The extender must be fully seated in the socket and the pin must be fully engaged before use.
The extender is properly installed when: (1) the square post is fully seated inside the Turnoverball receiver socket, and (2) the Turnoverball latch pin is fully engaged with the square post. The manual provides visual diagrams showing the difference between not seated/not engaged (incorrect) and fully seated/pin fully engaged (correct) positions. Do not tow until both conditions are met.
B&W recommends lightly lubricating the four corners of the square post with grease if the extender remains in the Turnoverball receiver for an extended period of time. Before each tow, perform a visual inspection: check that all pinned connections are secure, verify all bolted connections are at the correct torque specification, and check for cracks or damage to the hitch. Do not tow if cracks or damage outside of normal wear are found. Surface finish wear does not constitute damage.
Before towing, you must: (1) check turning clearance by comparing the measurement from the center of the coupler to the cab with the measurement from the center of the 2-5/16" ball to the farthest forward corner point of the trailer—this shows how much clearance you will have between the cab and trailer while turning; (2) perform a visual inspection of the hitch for cracks or damage; (3) verify all pinned connections are secure; and (4) confirm all bolted connections are at the correct torque specification.
Do not exceed the tow or tongue rating of: (1) the coupler, (2) the hitch, (3) your truck, or (4) your trailer. Exceeding any of these ratings may cause damage to towing components or loss of attachment between the trailer and truck. Check your vehicle and trailer manufacturer information for their specific ratings and ensure your setup respects the lowest limit.
No. Do not tow with any damaged or worn parts. A visual inspection should be performed before each tow to check for cracks or damage to the hitch. Do not tow if cracks or damage outside of normal wear are found. Towing with a hitch that has cracks or damage could result in damage to the tow vehicle, trailer, towing components, and loss of attachment between the tow vehicle and trailer. Surface finish wear does not constitute damage.
No. The extender cannot be used with plastic bed liners or bed floor additions that prevent full seating or latch pin engagement.
The extender comes equipped with a 2-5/16" ball and requires a matching 2-5/16" coupler on the trailer.
20,000 lb. Gross Towing Weight (GTW) and 5,000 lb. Vertical Tongue Weight (VTW). Do not exceed the lowest rating among your coupler, hitch, truck, and trailer.
Check turning clearance between the cab and trailer, perform a visual inspection for cracks or damage, verify all pinned connections are secure, and confirm all bolted connections are at the correct torque specification.
Lightly lubricate the four corners of the square post with grease if the extender remains in the receiver for an extended period. Inspect before each tow for secure pinned connections, correct torque on bolted connections, and any cracks or damage.
