This supplemental installation sheet is designed for Ram Box trucks with a factory accessory rail. The manual does not specify which model years, cab styles, or bed lengths are compatible. Contact BAK Industries customer service at 818-365-9000 (Mon–Fri, 8:30 am–6:00 pm EST) or support@bakindustries.com to confirm fitment for your specific vehicle.
Remove the factory accessory rail end cap and any accessory cleats before beginning installation. These items will be reinstalled later in the process.
Guide the bed cover rail into the upper half of the factory accessory rail. Use a soap and water mix to lubricate and help the rail and rail seal slide smoothly along the factory rail slot all the way to the front of the bed. Wear cut-resistance gloves during this step as the edges are sharp.
Install the large D shaped seal to the top of the bulkhead at the edge of the bed opening.
Make sure the bed cover rail is all the way forward so that the slotted bracket is touching the bulkhead. When sliding the rail forward, the installed bulkhead seal will need to be pinched down to allow the rail to slide over the top of it. Be careful not to pinch your fingers during this step.
Adhere the small D shaped seal to the top, inside edge of the Ram Box rail.
Insert the block of the retainer strap assembly into the factory cargo rail and slide the strap forward. The straps will be positioned and tightened during the cover assembly install, not during this step.
Replace the cargo rail cleats after inserting the retainer strap assembly. The straps will be positioned and tightened later during the cover assembly install.
The bed cover rail has sharp edges. Wear cut-resistance gloves when pushing and guiding the rail into the factory accessory rail to protect your hands from cuts.
When sliding the rail forward and pinching the bulkhead seal down, there is a risk of catching and pinching your finger. Work carefully during this step to avoid injury.
Use a soap and water mix to help the bed cover rail and rail seal slide smoothly along the factory rail slot to the front of the bed.
