All areas where the bed cover mounts must be clean and free of debris prior to installation. For the bulkhead seal specifically, clean the top of the bulkhead with soap and water to remove dirt and debris, then clean the same area with isopropyl alcohol to remove wax or grease and evaporate any remaining water. Allow the surface to dry completely before applying the seal.

Yes. You must remove three of the four factory plastic clips from the truck bed rail. Pry out the center of the clip first, then pry out the entire clip. These clips will not be used again unless you permanently remove the bed cover assembly. Rail clamps are then installed at each point where the plastic clips were removed.
Position the cover rail (A) on the truck rail with the slotted bracket pushed all the way toward the front/cab and the bulkhead. If the truck is equipped with a drop-in bedliner, remove the foam pads located at the front of the slotted brackets before positioning the rail.
Clamp bolts must be tightened to 8 ft/lbs (11 Nm) of torque. This applies to all clamps (front, middle, and rear) on both sides of the truck. Apply downward pressure to the cover rail while tightening the bolt to ensure the rail is square and flat with the truck bed rail. Do not over-torque the bolt, as this can cause the rails to appear tilted inward.
Cover strap mounting bolts must be tightened to 8 ft/lbs (11 Nm) of torque. This applies to both the driver side and passenger side cover straps.

For 2025 models: Mount the cover strap (N) and the forward-most clamp (P) using the provided oversized washer (Q) to retain the strap, and tighten to 8 ft/lbs (11 Nm). When driving with the cover open, roll the cover forward, twist and insert the strap clips into the cover clasps, ensuring both strap clamps are fully inserted, then pull on the end of the strap to tighten.
With the cover rolled open, install the four D-shaped bumpers (O) to the cover slats. Position the bumpers so that they prevent the cover from contacting the cab. Clean the surface where each seal will go with soap and water to remove dirt and debris, then clean with isopropyl alcohol to remove wax or grease and evaporate any remaining water. Allow the surface to dry. Peel the backing paper from the seal and apply pressure to the entire seal to ensure good adhesion.
If the side seals appear wrinkled when removed from the box, allow ample sunlight for the seal to lay flat and relax. Applying heat with a hair dryer or carefully with a heat gun will also smooth the seals.
When driving with the cover open, the cover must be rolled toward the cab and secured with both strap clamps. Pull down on the latch release cable located on either side of the cover and rotate the tail rail forward into a rolling motion. Prior to vehicle operation, the truck bed cover must be properly secured.
Roll the cover toward the tailgate and rotate the tail rail down to lock the latches into the rotating locking levers. The locking levers and latches will make a click sound when engaged. Periodically check that your cover is securely attached to your truck bed and working as intended. Inspect all hardware such as clamps and cover retainer clamps to ensure they are properly installed and working as intended. Check all clamps and retention mechanisms for tightness after a week of driving following installation (or re-installation) of the cover and periodically thereafter. Covers that are used at high frequency or subject to rough roadways and/or heavy vibration conditions may require adjustment. It is also recommended that you regularly inspect and service each panel latch. Clean away any excess dirt or grime and ensure all latches move freely and properly engage the side rail to provide optimal performance and security.
Improper engagement of the clamps can cause the rails to appear tilted inward. To ensure the clamps are properly installed, loosen the nut and adjust the clamp(s) until you have full engagement of sections 1 and 2. When the clamp and rail are properly engaged, an audible click will be heard. Overtightening the bolt can also contribute to tilted rails. Do not over-torque the bolt.
Make sure the retaining clamps are tight and properly engaged to the side rails. Check that the bulkhead seal is in place and the cover is resting on it. Make sure that all latches are engaged to the side rails and adjust if needed. Check that the side rails are installed flush with the top of the bed rail.
