The first step is to remove the jack cross shaft. If your jack has non-welded hex bushings, refer to Service Bulletin F3310 (included). If you are installing the powered drive on a planetary two-speed jack, refer to Service Bulletin F3376 (included). Steps 1 through 5 of those bulletins provide instructions for removing the cross shaft.
The powered drive/shaft should be installed such that the powered drive is on the non-geared side of the jack with the motor down and within the profile of the jack. For a tandem jack system, the powered drive should be between the two jacks and installed on the "street-side" jack.
The torque stop tube is a component that prevents the motor from rotating. With the powered drive/shaft temporarily installed, use it to locate the torque stop tube on the jack outer tube wall. Place the torque stop tube on the rubber bumper (with the powered drive/shaft installed) and mark the location on the outer tube. Remove the powered drive/shaft and weld the torque stop tube to the jack outer tube at the marked location. When reassembling, make sure to place the energy-absorbing rubber bumper into the torque stop tube.
The energy-absorbing rubber bumper is placed into the torque stop tube when assembling the powered drive/shaft. It prevents the motor from rotating. It must be installed before the powered drive/shaft is fully reassembled into the jack.
Use the standard hole for normal installation. Do not use hole #2 (see Figure 2 in the manual). This applies to both single-speed and two-speed jacks.
Attach the powered drive cover using the ¼" x 1" bolts and ¼" rubber bonded washers (included). Sandwich the cover between two rubber bonded washers on each bolt with the rubber side against the cover. Then screw the bolts into the mounting flange holes. Torque the bolts to 6 ft. lbs. The powered drive includes leads that connect to a terminal box. A wiring harness with pigtails and a switch box are also part of the system. The manual includes a wiring diagram (Figure 5) showing the connections. The powered drive leads and wiring harness leads attach to the terminal box studs. Non-split tubing or loom (included) is used to protect the leads.
The terminal box should be attached to the trailer at a location that will allow for connection of the powered drive leads to the terminal box studs. The exact location is at the installer's discretion, but it should be accessible for wiring connections.
The switch box of the wiring harness should be attached at a desired location on the trailer. Mounting hardware is not included, so you will need to provide your own fasteners suitable for your chosen location.

When using the drop leg, make certain the drop leg pin is fully inserted before using the jack. Do not allow children to play on or around the product or the load being supported. Secure the load, vehicle, and trailer from rolling by blocking wheels when operating the jack or coupling the trailer. Never attempt to adjust the drop leg when the jack is under load. Keep clear of pinch points at the drop leg pin and holes in the drop leg, as the drop leg will naturally drop or retract very quickly.
These jacks are designed for vertical loading only. Excessive side forces may cause jack failure and must be avoided.
