A CURT Quick Plug brake controller wiring adapter is one of the fastest and easiest ways to plug your brake controller into your vehicle. It requires no cutting or splicing! Just insert the vehicle-specific plug end into the OEM vehicles factory brake controller socket. The other end plugs into your CURT trailer brake controller. Quick Plug harnesses are available for a variety of vehicles and are unique for each vehicle application to provide the easiest possible installation. This particular brake controller harness fits certain years of the Mercedes-Benz GL350, GL450, GL550, GLE350, GLE 43 AMG, GLE550, GLE63 AMG, GLS450, GLS550, GLS63 AMG, ML250, ML350, ML400 (factory tow package required; see application info to verify fitment). CURT Quick Plug harnesses are compatible with most CURT brake controls and can be used as a replacement or for a new control unit installation. The green 4-pin brake control harness connector is located under the driver-side dash, near the kick panel. To access it: (1) carefully pull down the cover underneath the dash using a panel trim removal tool, (2) use a T15 Torx bit to remove the screws retaining the panel, and (3) use the panel trim removal tool to carefully pull back the driver-side sill plate and kick panel to expose the connector.
Install the custom brake control harness to the factory harness by inserting the connectors all the way with the locking tabs in place. Before attaching to the vehicle connectors, plug the brake control adapter into the mating connector on the brake controller first. Ensure all locking tabs are fully seated.
After testing the harness and controller, replace all parts removed in reverse order of steps 1–3. Follow the brake controller manual for installation and setup instructions.
Do not lay tools across the positive terminal (typically noted with red covers or a red '+' symbol), as this can cause a ground short leading to sparks and/or electrical shocks. Additionally, do not exceed the product rating or tow vehicle lamp load rating, whichever is lower.
