Nerf-bar style, full-length aluminum steps with 5 light mounting holes for easy entry and exit

Designed for patrol vehicles, security fleets, and rapid-response units, Aluminator 5-Light Side Steps deliver the strength, stability, and visibility officers depend on during every shift. Each full-length 6060 T6 aluminum board is formed into a tough, nerf-bar style platform and finished with a textured black powder coat that stands firm against corrosion, harsh weather, and daily service demands. Five integrated light mounting points run the length of the step, giving agencies the ability to increase scene awareness and officer visibility with 1x4-inch lights from trusted brands like Code 3, Federal Signal, Feniex, SoundOff Signal, and Whelen (sold separately). With dedicated mounting holes and an open-bottom design, wiring stays clean, protected, and easy to route. When officers step in or out of the vehicle, raised aluminum treads lock in underfoot, staying secure through rain, snow, mud, and whatever else the call brings. Installation is built for duty-grade reliability. High-strength, vehicle-specific brackets (sold separately) pull the steps tight to the rocker panel in a recessed position, guarding them from curbs, kicks, and the constant movement of real police work. TPO end caps finish the system with a clean, uniform look worthy of any marked or unmarked patrol unit. Strong, steady, and purpose-built for those who protect and serve, LUVERNE Aluminator 5-Light Side Steps stand ready for every shift, every call, every mile.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The 585005 O-Mega Step is designed for the following vehicles: Silverado and Sierra (Double Cab, Extended Cab, Crew Cab); Colorado and Canyon (Extended Cab, Crew Cab); Avalanche, Suburban, Yukon, Yukon XL, and Tahoe; Ram Quad Cab, Crew Cab, and Mega Cab; Dodge Dakota Quad Cab and Durango; Ford F150 Super Cab and Super Crew Cab; Ford Super Duty Super Cab and Crew Cab; and Toyota Tundra (Double Cab 07+, Crewmax 07+), Tacoma (Access Cab, Double Cab). Fitment depends on your specific cab style and model year. Consult the pad positioning table in the manual for your exact vehicle configuration.
Pad A and Pad B are step pads positioned at different distances along the step extrusion to suit different vehicle cab styles. Pad A is positioned closer to the front of the vehicle, while Pad B is positioned further back. The exact positioning distances vary by vehicle model and cab style (Double Cab, Extended Cab, Crew Cab, Quad Cab, etc.). Refer to the positioning table on page 3 of the manual for your specific vehicle to determine the correct distances for Pad A and Pad B.
You will need: a 1/2" wrench, a drill, a Phillips bit, and a 1/8" drill bit. These tools are required to attach the step pads, install fasteners, and secure the step to the mounting brackets.
The 585005 includes: 2 extrusions (aluminum, 85.0, Omega step, black); 4 aluminum step pads (black, Omega-step); 4 plastic end caps (2.95 × 6.70); 24 square head screws (5/16-18 × 1, Magniguard); 24 serrated flange hex nuts (stainless steel, 5/16-18); and 20 Phillips pan head tek screws (stainless steel, bright zinc plated, #8-18 × 1/2"). The step pads are attached to the extrusions with tek screws, and the extrusions are mounted to the brackets with square head bolts and serrated flange nuts.
Yes. The manual states that you must follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package for your vehicle to mount the brackets to your vehicle before attaching the O-Mega steps. The bracket installation is a separate process and must be completed first. The 585005 kit does not include the mounting brackets.
Before attaching the O-Mega steps to the brackets, place the step pads on top of the step plates. Use the positioning table on page 3 of the manual to find your vehicle model and cab style, which will give you the distances for Pad A and Pad B. Position the pads at these distances from the front of the step. Drill five 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide, then attach each pad with five #8-18 × 1/2" tek screws. Repeat this process for all step pads.
Yes. You must drill five 1/8" holes in each step extrusion to attach the step pads. Use the step pad as a guide for hole placement. A drill with a 1/8" drill bit is required. No other drilling or modifications to the vehicle are mentioned in the manual.
The 5/16" bolts that secure the O-Mega step to the mounting brackets must be tightened to 19 ft-lbs. The end cap bolts are a separate specification and must be tightened to 5 ft-lbs. Use a 1/2" wrench to apply the correct torque.
The end cap bolts must be tightened to 5 ft-lbs. This is different from the main 5/16" bolts that secure the step to the brackets, which are torqued to 19 ft-lbs.
Use mild automotive detergent to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes, or similar products, as these may damage the finish. Periodic inspection of the product should be performed to ensure all hardware and components remain secure.
After installation, perform a periodic inspection to ensure all hardware and components remain secure. The manual emphasizes that proper torque specifications must be used during installation to prevent damage to the product or vehicle. Check that the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle and that all fasteners are tightened to the specified torque values (19 ft-lbs for main bolts, 5 ft-lbs for end caps).
The 585005 O-Mega Step fits Silverado, Sierra, Colorado, Canyon, Avalanche, Suburban, Yukon, Tahoe, Ram, Dodge Dakota, Dodge Durango, Ford F150, Ford Super Duty, and Toyota Tundra and Tacoma models. Fitment depends on your specific cab style (Double Cab, Extended Cab, Crew Cab, Quad Cab, Mega Cab, or Crewmax). Check the vehicle model table in the manual for your exact configuration.
You need a 1/2" wrench, drill, Phillips bit, and 1/8" drill bit. All required hardware is included in the kit.
Yes, you must drill five 1/8" holes in each step extrusion to attach the step pads. No vehicle modifications are required.
Tighten the main 5/16" bolts to 19 ft-lbs and the end cap bolts to 5 ft-lbs. Use a 1/2" wrench.
Yes, mounting brackets are not included. You must purchase the vehicle-specific bracket package and install it according to its separate instructions before attaching the O-Mega steps.
