This REESE Class 3 receiver hitch is rated for up to 5,000 lbs. gross trailer weight (GTW) and up to 500 lbs. tongue weight (TW). They are also suitable for use with weight distribution up to 6,000 lbs. weight distribution (WD) and 600 lbs. weight distribution tongue weight (WDTW). REESE hitches are designed to provide top towing performance, with solid-all-welded construction and a black powder coat finish to resist rust and corrosion. The Class 3 trailer hitch has a 2 inch square receiver tube opening, allowing you to attach accessories like a bike rack or cargo carrier, or hook up your pop-up, boat trailer, or utility trailer. Includes all the mounting hardware needed for installation and are backed by a nationwide lifetime limited warranty. REESE trailer hitches are tested to exceed V-5 and SAE J684 standards. Backed by a towing pedigree dating to 1952, the line uses all-welded construction and corrosion-resistant finishes, with custom-fit hitches matched to vehicle make, model and year.
The Reese story starts in 1952, when Margaret Reese challenged her husband TJ to do something about travel trailers rocking whenever anyone walked through them. A few years later he built the first pair of stabilising jacks. The idea was simple and it worked, and it changed how the RV industry thought about trailer stability. From that beginning the Reese name grew into a full towing line covering fifth wheel hitches, pin boxes, weight distribution systems and accessories, and Reese Towpower carries that engineering into the products most owners buy off the shelf.
Receiver trailer hitches anchor the range, offered across the classes needed for everything from a small utility trailer to livestock and job-site loads. Construction is all-welded rather than bolted at the stress points, and each hitch is tested against published standards for strength and safety. Custom-fit hitches are engineered to the vehicle manufacturer's weight specifications for a given model and model year, so mounting points line up with existing frame holes and the finished installation sits where it should. No towing setup is complete without the connecting hardware, and Reese Towpower covers it comprehensively. Ball mounts come in fixed, adjustable and specialty forms with a range of rises and drops to level a trailer properly. Hitch balls are offered in the standard diameters and shank sizes, matched to coupler and load rating.
