UWS crossover truck tool boxes are the tried-and-true way of keeping your tools organized, on-hand and fully secure no matter where you and your truck roam. Each UWS tool box is built from extra-thick aluminum welded into a single-piece tub. This provides the tool box with reliable strength and helps keep the interior sealed off from the elements. Aluminum construction also makes the box highly resistant to corrosion for long-lasting use. To add even more strength to the crossover truck tool box, the lid features our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. Layered between two sheets of aluminum, this core greatly increases the structural integrity of the lid to prevent bending and warping and to ensure smooth opening and closing. The lid is able to open to a full 90 degrees, providing better access to tools, equipment and other stored items. It also features self-opening struts to make it easy to open the box when your hands are full. This particular truck tool box features a low profile, meaning the lid is built lower than our standard lid. This provides a better view out the rear cab window and additional clearance for other items in the truck bed, if needed. To keep out moisture, dirt and even insects, the lid is also fitted with a MicroSeal gasket that seals off the inside of the tool box from the outside elements. UWS crossover truck tool boxes make it easy to keep your tools and other items organized, featuring built-in screwdriver holders and a three-compartment sliding tool tray. The tool box itself is easy to install and is available in multiple sizes to provide the perfect for your truck and lifestyle. Like all UWS products, each crossover truck tool box is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability (NOTE: This product is heavily packaged for parcel shipping).

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

No. The manual explicitly states: do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, including gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches. This is a danger warning.
For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, use polish to clear small scratches and scuffs. Clean with mild automotive detergent only. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or similar products that may damage the finish. Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue.
The tool box is designed for truck beds with rails. The manual does not specify which truck models, bed lengths, cab styles or frame types are compatible. Before purchasing, verify that your truck has accessible bed rails and measure your truck bed to ensure the tool box will fit and allow the lid to open with clearance to the cab. Contact the manufacturer or your dealer for specific fitment information.
You must check clearance during installation. In Step 1, open the tool box lid and ensure there is clearance between the open lid, top and back of the cab. If clearance is insufficient, the tool box may not be compatible with your truck or cab style. Verify this before fully tightening the mounting hardware.
You will need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. The installation is rated as Easy difficulty.
The manual does not explicitly state whether drilling is required for all installations. The tool box uses adhesive rail pads and J-hook fasteners that attach under the bed rail lip. However, a warning states: before drilling into your truck bed, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture brake or fuel lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, etc. This suggests drilling may be necessary in some cases. Consult your dealer or the manufacturer if you are unsure whether your specific installation requires drilling.
Before drilling into your truck bed, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, etc. Precaution must be taken that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision.
In Step 1, place the tool box in the truck bed and check clearance with the lid open. Attach the adhesive side of the rail pads to the underside of the tool box ends. Place the tool box with the rail pads adhered on top of the truck bed rails. Using a tape measure, ensure the tool box is centered in the truck bed. Open the tool box lid and ensure there is clearance between the open lid, top and back of the cab.
In Step 2, place a J-hook under the lip of the bed rail and insert the threaded end up through the slot. Only use one hole and J-hook assembly on each side. Attach with a washer and nut. Snug the hardware, but do not fully tighten. Repeat on the other side of the vehicle. Re-measure to ensure the tool box is centered and allows lid clearance when open. Then fully tighten all hardware.
In Step 2, you snug the hardware but do not fully tighten initially. This allows you to re-measure and adjust the tool box position to ensure it is centered in the truck bed and allows proper lid clearance when open. Only after confirming correct positioning do you fully tighten all hardware.
You use two J-hooks total: one on each side of the vehicle. The manual states: only use one hole and J-hook assembly on each side.
In Step 3, if the strikers are ever out of alignment, simply loosen, adjust and re-tighten. Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance.
The torque specification for 1/4" bolts is 3 ft-lbs. The manual notes that these are general guidelines. If purchasing additional hardware, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
Yes. The manual states: this product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product.
The manual states: never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. The specific weight capacity of the tool box is not provided in the manual. Consult your vehicle's owner manual or the manufacturer for the maximum load capacity of your truck bed.
In Step 4, ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured before every trip. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. With the crossover tool box installed, periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight.
