UWS Secure Lock crossover truck tool boxes provide the ultimate in security and convenience, offering you a truck bed tool box unlike any other. It features a unique locking system, an innovative interior and a highly durable design. The Secure Lock truck box operates with two lockable twist handles. These handles are key-operated and allow you to lock the truck tool box from either the driver or passenger side. The two locks also give you the option to lock both sides for maximum security. The lid of the Secure Lock tool box is particularly strong, featuring our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. This gives the lid greater structural integrity and resists bending and warping. Like most UWS tool boxes, this box also features extra-thick aluminum construction, and the tub is welded into a single piece to ensure waterproof protection for your items. It is also equipped with a MicroSeal gasket to keep out dust, grime, moisture and insects. To protect the interior of the Secure Lock tool box, it features a heavy-duty BedRug liner. This protective mat resists dents and damage to the box itself and to your tools and other items, and it helps trap dust and dirt for easy cleanup. The UWS Secure Lock truck tool box offers excellent organization for your tools, featuring an included three-compartment tray and built-in screwdriver holders. The lid is able to open to a complete 90 degrees for easy access to the interior contents, and it is equipped with self-closing struts that automatically close the lid with a slight manual pull, securing the box when your hands are full. The Secure Lock truck tool box is quick and easy to install, and it is available in multiple sizes to provide the perfect fit for your own unique truck bed. Like all UWS products, each Secure Lock crossover truck tool box is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability.

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

The UWS Bright Aluminum 72" Secure Lock Truck Tool Box, Low Profile SL-72-LP (Part #BHSGSL-72-LP) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The package includes one crossover truck tool box, one key, one divider tray (not included with all models), two rail pads, two 3-inch J-hooks, two 1/4" washers, and two 1/4" nuts. Some models may vary in style, size or finish.
Yes, clearance must be verified during installation. In Step 1, open the tool box lid and ensure there is clearance between the open lid, top and back of the cab before finalizing placement. This check is essential before the tool box is permanently secured.
You will need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. The manual rates the installation difficulty as Easy.
Before drilling into your truck bed, check under the vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, or other components. Precaution must also be taken that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision.
Place the tool box in the truck bed and use a tape measure to ensure it is centered. Attach the adhesive side of the rail pads to the underside of the tool box ends, then place the tool box with the rail pads adhered on top of the truck bed rails. Open the lid and verify clearance between the open lid, top and back of the cab before securing.
Place a J-hook under the lip of the bed rail and insert the threaded end up through the slot. Use only one hole and J-hook assembly on each side. Attach with a washer and nut, snugging the hardware but not fully tightening. Repeat on the other side. After re-measuring to ensure the tool box is centered and lid clearance is maintained, fully tighten all hardware.
1. Place the tool box in the truck bed and check clearance with the lid open. 2. Attach adhesive rail pads to the underside of the tool box ends and position on the truck bed rails. 3. Center the tool box using a tape measure and verify lid clearance. 4. Install J-hooks under the bed rail lips, insert threaded ends through slots, and attach with washers and nuts. 5. Snug but do not fully tighten. 6. Re-measure for centering and lid clearance. 7. Fully tighten all hardware.
The general torque specification for 1/4" bolts is 3 ft-lbs. However, the manual notes that these are general guidelines. If you purchase replacement hardware, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware instead.
If the strikers are out of alignment, simply loosen them, adjust to the correct position, and re-tighten. Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance.
Do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, such as containers of gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches. Danger of explosion.
Yes. The product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product installed.
Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. The manual does not specify the tool box's own weight capacity; consult your vehicle's owner manual or the manufacturer for specific limits.
Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured before every trip. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. With the crossover tool box installed, periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight.
For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish.
The manual recommends periodically lubricating the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance, but does not specify an exact interval. Lubricate whenever you notice the lid or locks becoming stiff or difficult to operate.
Treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion. This protects both the fasteners and the truck bed from rust and deterioration.
The tool box fits truck beds with rails. Verify clearance with the lid open against your cab before installation. Contact the manufacturer to confirm compatibility with your specific vehicle model and bed length.
