UWS wheel well tool boxes provide optimized storage and security for your items in the bed of your truck. They are designed to mount in the truck bed, integrating with the wheel wells to maximize the space for other cargo (mounting hardware not included). Each box features a corrosion-resistant aluminum construction, a stainless steel locking system, a patented RigidCore foam-filled lid and integrated drawers -- all to keep your equipment and valuables safe, well-organized and easily accessible whenever needed. Each UWS truck tool box is constructed from extra-thick aluminum for increased structural strength. The tub is welded together into a single piece for weather resistance and to easily hold heavy tools and other items. The lid features a patented RigidCore foam-filled design, sandwiched between two aluminum plates. This greatly increases the strength of the lid and helps prevent bending and warping, making operation very smooth. The locking mechanism of the UWS fender tool box provides excellent security for your items, featuring a stainless steel, key-operated paddle handle for long-lasting corrosion resistance. For solid protection against the elements, the lid also has a MicroSeal gasket, blocking moisture, dust and insects from getting inside. The lid also opens a full 90 degrees for easier access, and it is equipped with self-opening struts for convenient operation when your hands are full. The three drawers of this tool box allow you to keep your tools well-organized and secure. They are locked behind a small, rear-facing door, keeping them safe from theft and the elements. They are constructed from commercial-grade, precision-injected plastic, and they slide on stainless steel ball bearings and sliders for excellent corrosion resistance. The package includes one truck fender tool box and two keys. Hardware (bolts, flat washers and nylock nuts) is not included and must be purchased separately.
No. The manual explicitly states: 'Do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, such as containers of gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches.' This is a danger of explosion.
For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Clean the product with mild automotive detergent only. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or similar products that may damage the finish. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue.
The manual states you must 'ensure the paddle handle clears the bed rail of the truck and the tool box lid opens properly' during placement. A custom shim may need to be placed under the tool box so the handle can be accessed. Fitment depends on your specific truck bed design and rail height.
Yes. The manual warns: 'This product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product.'

Yes. The first step is to 'remove the bottom two drawers from the tool box' before placing it on the truck bed. You will also drill mounting holes in the base of the tool box where the drawers have been removed. The drawers are re-installed after all mounting hardware is tightened.
Before drilling, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, etc. Precaution must be taken that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision.
All mounting holes are 1/4" diameter. You drill 1/4" holes in the tool box at two locations on the lip of the bed rail and two locations on the base of the tool box (where the drawers have been removed). You then use these holes to mark and drill 1/4" holes in the truck bed and bed rail.
Yes. The installation requires drilling 1/4" holes into the truck bed and bed rail. These holes are permanent modifications to your vehicle. The manual advises: 'Treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in vehicle to prevent corrosion.'

The tool box has four mounting points: two on the lip of the bed rail and two on the base of the tool box (where the drawers have been removed). A minimum of one bolt and flat washer is inserted through each drilled hole and secured with one flat washer and nylock nut on the underside.
For each of the four mounting holes, insert a minimum of one bolt and flat washer (not provided) through the drilled hole in the tool box and secure with one flat washer and nylock nut (not provided) on the underside of the mounting surface. Tighten all hardware to the recommended torque specifications.
Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured before every trip. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue.
