UWS truck side tool boxes provide unbeatable storage and security for your items in the bed of your truck. Each box features a corrosion-resistant aluminum construction, a stainless steel locking system and a patented RigidCore foam-filled lid -- all to keep your equipment and valuables safe, well-organized and easily accessible whenever needed. Each UWS truck tool box is constructed from extra-thick aluminum for increased structural strength. The tub is welded together into a single piece for weather resistance and to easily hold heavy tools and other items. The lid features a patented RigidCore foam-filled design, sandwiched between two aluminum plates. This greatly increases the strength of the lid and helps prevent bending and warping, making operation very smooth. The locking mechanism of the UWS truck side tool box provides excellent security for your items, featuring a stainless steel, key-operated paddle handle for long-lasting corrosion resistance. For solid protection against the elements, the lid also has a MicroSeal gasket, blocking moisture, dust and insects from getting inside and damaging your valuables. The lid also opens a full 90 degrees for easier access, and it is equipped with self-opening struts for convenient operation when your hands are full. UWS truck tool boxes are available in multiple sizes to accommodate any storage need. Like all UWS products, each one is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability (NOTE: This product is heavily packaged for parcel shipping).

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

UWS | Tough. Reliable.
The package includes one truck side tool box, one key, and two legs. Hardware (bolts, washers and lock nuts) is not included and must be purchased separately.
No. Do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, including gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches. Doing so creates a danger of explosion.
Periodically re-tighten and inspect all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks before every trip, and check for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Clean with mild automotive detergent only; do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or similar products that may damage the finish.
Yes. This product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product installed.
The manual states you must not interfere with factory-installed safety equipment. Before installation, verify that the tool box placement does not obstruct any factory safety features on your specific truck.
You will need: drill, drill bit set, ratchet, socket set, tape measure, level, square, and marker. Hardware (bolts, washers and lock nuts) must be purchased separately.
You must purchase bolts, washers and lock nuts. The manual does not specify exact sizes, but provides torque specifications for common metric and SAE bolt sizes: M6 (3 ft-lbs), M8 (7 ft-lbs), M10 (16 ft-lbs), M12 (28 ft-lbs), 1/4" (3 ft-lbs), 5/16" (7 ft-lbs), 3/8" (16 ft-lbs), 7/16" (20 ft-lbs) and 1/2" (28 ft-lbs). Consult your dealer for the correct hardware size for your specific truck.
Park the truck on level ground. Place the tool box on the bed rail of the truck with the handles and logo plate facing outward.
Before drilling into your truck bed, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, etc. Precaution must be taken that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision.
Drill two holes through the tool box and bed rail. For 72" tool boxes, drill three holes instead.
Yes. Treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion.
Drill two holes through the tool box and bed rail (three holes for 72" tool boxes). Insert a bolt and washer through the drilled hole. Secure with a washer and lock nut under the bed rail. Tighten all hardware using the appropriate torque specification for your bolt size.
Ensure the tool box is level. Place one leg on a corner of the tool box that is not resting on the bed rail. Use a square to ensure the leg is vertical and at the appropriate height so it rests on the truck bed. Mark two mounting locations to attach the leg to the box. Drill two holes through the leg and tool box corner. Secure the leg with purchased hardware. Repeat on the other end of the tool box.
Yes. For added security, the legs may be bolted to the truck bed in addition to being attached to the tool box corners.
The torque specification for M8 bolts is 7 ft-lbs. Note that these are general guidelines; if purchasing hardware, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
The torque specification for 3/8" bolts is 16 ft-lbs. Note that these are general guidelines; if purchasing hardware, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
The torque specification for 1/2" bolts is 28 ft-lbs. Note that these are general guidelines; if purchasing hardware, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
Yes. Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured before every trip. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue.
Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. Consult your vehicle's owner manual or your dealer for the specific weight limit for your truck bed.
With the truck side tool box installed, periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured before every trip.

Yes. You must drill two holes through the tool box and bed rail (three holes for 72" tool boxes), and two holes through each leg and tool box corner. Before drilling, check under your vehicle to ensure you do not puncture brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires or fuel tanks.
