Upgrades your existing tool box by providing additional transport and tie-down options

| Material | HIGH-TEMP NYLON |
Upgrade your UWS tool box with the Tie-Down Side Rails, designed to provide additional cargo security and transport options. These durable rails offer convenient tie-down points, allowing you to safely secure tools, gear, and other equipment on the go. Made from black UV-stabilized, glass-filled nylon, these rails are built for long-lasting strength and resilience. With a 50-lb. weight capacity, they provide reliable support for securing cargo. Designed to fit UWS tool boxes with a 3/4” x 45° chamfered lid and at least 18-1/2” width, these rails come with all necessary mounting hardware for easy DIY installation.

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

UWS | Tough. Reliable.
The UWS-TBTD is a fascia tie-down system designed to secure items to the side of a UWS crossover truck tool box. It is a mounting bracket that attaches to the toolbox lid and provides anchor points for securing cargo. The product has a rated capacity of 50 pounds.
The UWS-TBTD is designed for UWS crossover truck tool boxes. The manual does not specify which models or sizes are compatible. Contact UWS product support at 877.287.8634 or consult your dealer to confirm compatibility with your specific toolbox model.
You will need: a drill, two 4" C-clamps, a 9/32" drill bit, a 31/64" drill bit, and a 5/32" T-handle hex key. These tools are required to pilot drill the mounting holes, enlarge them to the correct size, and tighten the fasteners.
The kit includes: 2 UWS fascia tie-down brackets, 6 well nuts (1/4"-20 x 9/16"), and 6 flanged button-head screws (1/4"-20). You will use 3 well nuts and 3 screws per tie-down bracket (one set per side of the toolbox).
Yes. The manual states: "If your toolbox is already installed on your vehicle, it will need to be removed to allow the rail to be clamped prior to drilling the mounting holes." The toolbox must be removed so the tie-down can be clamped firmly in position during the pilot drilling step.
Center the tie-down on the side of the toolbox, ensuring it is pressed firmly against the end of the box. Secure it in position using two 4" C-clamps. The clamps hold the bracket steady while you pilot drill the three mounting hole locations through the top panel of the toolbox lid.
Use a 9/32" drill bit to pilot drill the three mounting hole locations through the top panel of the toolbox lid. These pilot holes are then enlarged in the next step.
The final hole size is 31/64". After pilot drilling with the 9/32" bit, use a 31/64" drill bit to enlarge all three pilot holes. Care should be taken not to drill oversize, as this may prevent the well nuts from properly expanding during installation.
If the 31/64" holes are drilled oversize, the rubber well nuts may not properly expand during installation, which would prevent them from seating correctly and securing the tie-down bracket. Precision drilling is essential for proper fastening.
The UWS lid is reinforced with foam. Before installing the well nuts, ensure the three drilled holes are free of foam, as foam may prevent the well nuts from seating properly in the holes. Clear any foam debris from the holes.
The torque specification for 1/4" bolts is 3 ft-lbs. Tighten the flanged button-head screws using a 5/32" T-handle hex key with caution not to overtighten.
The rated capacity is 50 pounds. Never exceed this weight limit when securing items to the tie-down.
No. The product is not designed to support the weight of individuals entering or exiting a vehicle, truck bed, or running board. Using it as a handhold or rail may result in serious injury and/or property damage.
Do not use the product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, including containers of gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks or cutting torches. Using the product to transport dangerous materials may lead to serious injury and/or property damage.
Yes. The product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product installed.
Treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion. This is especially important for the three mounting holes drilled through the toolbox lid.
Do not use this product to transport items that may pose a hazard to pedestrians, vehicles, or property if dislodged while the vehicle is moving. Ensure all items are securely fastened and properly contained to prevent accidents or injuries.
Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish. For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs.
