Whatever the next item is on your to-do list -- whether it's arriving at the jobsite before dawn or getting your travel trailer set up in time to see the sunset -- CURT class 4 trailer hitches offer greater towing power to let you Bring It. These custom receiver hitches are built to tackle bigger jobs and bolder adventures, all while giving you a custom fit for your vehicle. Class 4 hitches are available for a variety of makes and models, from pickup trucks and SUVs to full-size and commercial vans. This particular class 4 hitch fits certain years of the Ford E150, E250 and E350 Super Duty (to verify vehicle compatibility, see application info). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 10,000 lbs. GTW and 1,000 lbs. TW. It can also accept a weight distributing hitch, offering a maximum WD capacity of 12,000 lbs. and a WDTW of 1,200 lbs. CURT class 4 tow hitches are as much suited for work as they are for play. With their high load capacities, they are typically used for towing larger trailers, including everything from a double-axle utility trailer or livestock trailer to a full-length camper or large boat trailer (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component). All CURT class 4 receiver hitches come with a 2" receiver tube opening and all the necessary hardware for a complete installation. From light-duty to heavy-duty, every CURT custom hitch is engineered to be vehicle-specific, using actual vehicles to create the optimal design. We then combine high-strength steel, precise welding and a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and durable black powder coat to provide you with a hitch you can depend on. To prove it, we test all our hitches in accordance with SAE J684 for safety.
If your vehicle is not equipped with wiring for towing a trailer, CURT custom wiring is the ideal solution. A custom wiring harness -- also called a T-connector -- is a simple, plug-and-play electrical device that plugs into your automotive electric system and provides a standard, universal trailer wiring connection. This is done using two or more vehicle-specific, OEM-compatible connectors to plug into the taillight assembly, eliminating the need for cutting, splicing and soldering during installation. Custom wiring harnesses are made vehicle-specific, and while they are not available for all vehicles, they do offer one of the fastest, easiest and most secure ways to wire a vehicle for towing. This particular plug-in harness provides a 4-way flat connector socket and is designed to be a custom wiring harness to fit certain years of the Ford E150, E250 and E350 Super Duty (to verify your vehicle compatibility, see application info). It comes with all necessary wiring components to establish a reliable trailer wiring connection, as well as a dust cover to keep the connector clean when not in use. You have a picture in mind of your next destination -- maybe it's the boat landing at your favorite fishing spot, maybe it's a campsite that overlooks one of nature's masterpieces, or maybe it's the next big jobsite. However, turning that picture into a reality takes more than just daydreaming. It takes a solid connection and the right amount of power. CURT custom wiring is made with some of the most sophisticated technology in the industry and is designed to install with ease, giving you a long-lasting electrical connection for your towing hitch setup.

The 00 - 14 Ford E-150 Curt 2", Class 4 Trailer Tow Hitch + 4-flat Wiring Kit 14055 (Part #CHW-936) fits 2000-2014 Ford E-150 models. The 2014 model year is the last year covered by this part number. For newer models, check for an updated version.
The 00 - 14 Ford E-150 Curt 2", Class 4 Trailer Tow Hitch + 4-flat Wiring Kit 14055 (Part #CHW-936) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
Part number 14055 fits Ford Econoline Van E-150, E-250, and E-350 models. However, installation procedures differ by model: E-150 models require drilling and hole enlargement, while E-250 and E-350 models use existing frame holes with no drilling required.
Drilling is required only on E-150 models. E-250 and E-350 models use existing holes in the frame rails and do not require drilling. If you have an E-150, you will need to drill four holes and enlarge two existing holes as shown in the installation diagram.
Required tools are: ratchet, 3/4" socket, 7/8" socket, and torque wrench. If you have an E-150 model, you will also need a drill and 17/32" drill bit to drill and enlarge holes as needed.
The kit includes: 6 carriage bolts (1/2-13 UNC, Grade 8, part 10-10288), 6 serrated flange nuts (1/2-13 UNC, Grade 8, part 20-00062), 6 square hole spacers 0.250 x 1.50 x 2.00" (part CM-SP1), and 2 flat washers 1/2" (part 30-00133).
The carbon canister, if present on the driver side frame rail, must be lowered before installation. After the hitch is installed and torqued, the canister must be reattached. It must not contact any bolt head; if it does, loosen the canister fasteners and reposition it to ensure clearance.
1. Lower the carbon canister if present. 2. Install forward and rearward carriage bolts and spacers in frame rails (on E-150, drill holes as shown). 3. Raise the hitch and hand-tighten forward and rearward fasteners to both rails. 4. Install the center carriage bolt and spacer with flat washers between rails and hitch (do not overlap spacers). 5. Torque all 1/2" fasteners to 110 lb-ft. 6. Reattach the carbon canister with clearance from bolt heads.
All 1/2" fasteners must be torqued to 110 lb-ft. This applies to all six carriage bolts and their corresponding nuts.
Yes. Six square hole spacers (0.250 x 1.50 x 2.00", part CM-SP1) are included and must be installed between the carriage bolts and frame rails. Do not overlap the spacers.
No. After installing the forward and rearward carriage bolts and spacers, raise the hitch into position and hand-tighten the fasteners first. Install the center carriage bolt and spacer with flat washers, then torque all 1/2" fasteners to 110 lb-ft.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. The manual does not specify an exact interval; regular visual inspection before towing is recommended.

Yes, part 14055 fits all three models. E-150 requires drilling; E-250 and E-350 use existing frame holes.
Ratchet, 3/4" and 7/8" sockets, and torque wrench. E-150 models also need a drill and 17/32" drill bit.
All 1/2" fasteners torque to 110 lb-ft.
The canister must be lowered before installation and reattached afterward, ensuring it does not contact bolt heads.
No. E-250 and E-350 models use existing frame holes. Drilling is required only on E-150 models.
Yes, the Curt 56020 is designed for Ford Econoline SUVs, mini and full-sized vans. The harness connects to the vehicle's taillight wiring system via connectors located behind the driver and passenger side taillight housings.
The Curt 56020 includes the custom wiring harness with yellow and green wire ends, provided sealant, cable ties, and a 4-flat dust cover.
You will need a ratchet, a T-15 Torx bit, and a cutting tool. The T-15 Torx bit is used to remove the four screws securing each taillight assembly. The cutting tool is used to cut a slit in the grommet to route the wiring harness.
The manual does not specify whether the battery must be disconnected. Check your vehicle owner's manual or contact the vehicle manufacturer for more information.
Open the rear cargo doors and remove the eight Phillips screws securing the rear scuff panel. Pull the scuff panel out at the bottom and then up, taking care not to damage the alignment tabs on the back. Behind each taillight, you will find the vehicle taillight wiring harness connectors.
Remove the four T-15 Torx screws securing each taillight assembly. Start on the driver side, then repeat on the passenger side. Take care not to damage the locking tabs on the connectors when separating them from the taillight housing.
Yes. Locate the grommet behind the taillight where the vehicle taillight wiring passes from inside the cabin to the taillight. Remove the grommet and cut a slit large enough to route the custom wiring harness through it.
The harness end with the yellow wire is routed on the driver side. The harness end with the green wire is routed on the passenger side.
Insert the wiring harness end with the yellow wire between the separated taillight connectors on the driver side. Make sure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place. Repeat this process on the passenger side using the harness end with the green wire.
Use the provided sealant to seal the cut in the grommet and around all the wires after routing the custom wiring harness through the grommet opening.
When in use, route the 4-flat to the center of the vehicle and out of the trunk. When not in use, roll up and store in a convenient, out-of-the-way location inside the trunk.
Secure any loose wires with the provided cable ties. This helps keep the wiring organized and prevents damage during vehicle operation.
Test for proper function by using a test light or connecting a properly wired trailer. All steps must be followed to ensure the wiring harness will function properly.
Do not exceed the product rating or the tow vehicle lamp load rating, whichever is lower. Exceeding the product rating can cause loss of warranty, overheating and potential fire.
Install the provided 4-flat dust cover to help prevent corrosion. This should be done during the final reinstallation step.
