The Curt 55376 has two circuit ratings: Signal Circuits are rated at 3.0 amps per side, and Tail/Running Circuits are rated at 6.0 amps total. Do not exceed these ratings or your tow vehicle's lamp load rating, whichever is lower, as exceeding the rating can cause loss of warranty, overheating and potential fire.
You will need: Phillips screwdriver, flat blade screwdriver, panel trim removal tool, wire stripper, wire crimper, and cutting tool.
Remove the driver side taillight assembly. You will see a black connector on the vehicle wiring harness similar to the custom wiring harness connector. Slide the red connector lock aside and disconnect the vehicle harness from the taillight assembly, taking care not to damage the locking tabs.
Carefully pull the vehicle wiring harness and rubber grommet out a short distance from the vehicle and slit the rubber grommet. After routing the custom wiring harness through, insert the harness wires through the grommet slit and reseat it in the mounting hole. Use the provided sealant to seal the cut in the grommet and around all the wires.
You must remove: the driver side taillight assembly, the vehicle jack storage cover located inside the rear of the vehicle on the driver side, and the hatch threshold. You will also need to pull back the left trim panel to expose the area behind the taillights.
