Yes, the 05-10 KIA Sportage CURT 4-flat Plug and Play Trailer Wiring (Part #CTW1637) is designed to fit the 2005-2010 Kia Sportage.
The 05-10 KIA Sportage CURT 4-flat Plug and Play Trailer Wiring (Part #CTW1637) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The Curt 55529 is designed for Kia Sportage V6 models only. If your Sportage has a V6 engine, this connector will fit. If you have a different engine type, this product is not compatible. Check your vehicle's owner's manual or contact the vehicle manufacturer to confirm your engine type.
The Curt 55529 has two amperage ratings: Signal Circuits are rated at 3.0 amps per side, and Tail/Running Circuits are rated at 6.0 amps total. Do not exceed these ratings or your tow vehicle's lamp load rating, whichever is lower. Exceeding the product rating can cause loss of warranty, overheating and potential fire.
The manual does not specify required tools. However, based on the installation steps, you may need a drill with a 3/32" bit (if drilling a pilot hole for the ground screw), a screwdriver, and possibly a wrench or socket to secure the ground screw with its nut. Contact Curt Manufacturing for a complete tool list.
The vehicle connector is located on the passenger side of your Kia Sportage, between the bumper and rear tire. The connector is marked as S5 and is positioned behind the driver side rear bumper. You will need to remove a protective cover to access it.
Locate the vehicle connector on the passenger side between the bumper and rear tire. Remove the protective cover carefully, taking care not to damage the locking tabs. Insert the custom wiring harness into the vehicle connector, ensuring the connectors are fully inserted and the locking tabs are in place. The connectors must be fully seated for proper function.
Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing screw with nut in the vehicle frame. If no suitable point exists, drill a 3/32" pilot hole for the provided screw. The area must be free of rust, dirt and paint. Secure the white ground wire using the ring terminal and provided screw. Before drilling, check for hidden items behind or under any surface to avoid damage and personal injury.
Locate a flat spot inside the vehicle near the taillight and adhere the black converter box using the provided double-sided tape. The box should be mounted in a secure, accessible location.
When in use, route the 4-flat to the center of the vehicle and out of the trunk. When not in use, roll up and store in a convenient, out-of-the-way location inside the trunk. Secure any loose wires with the provided cable ties to prevent tangling and damage.
After installation, reinstall all items removed during the install. Install the provided 4-flat dust cover to help prevent corrosion. Test the connector for proper function by using a test light or connecting a properly wired trailer. All steps must be followed to ensure the wiring connector will function properly.

If not, you will need to drill a 3/32" pilot hole for the provided ground screw. Before drilling, check for hidden items behind or under any surface to avoid damage and personal injury.
