Yes, CURT part number 11210 is designed for 2011-Present Ford Mustang Coupe and Convertible models. The hitch is a weight-carrying style with a maximum trailer weight capacity of 2,000 lbs and tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs. Always verify your vehicle matches these specifications before purchasing.
CURT 11210 is designed for use with ballmount #D-20/45520. Euro mount options are also available: #45561 (1 7/8" ball) and #45562 (2" ball).
CURT 11210 has a maximum trailer weight capacity of 2,000 lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs. However, you must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower than the hitch rating.
You will need: a pry bar, a ratchet, an 11/16" socket, a torque wrench, and safety glasses. Using proper tools will greatly improve the quality of the installation and reduce the time required.
No, drilling is not required. CURT 11210 uses fishwire hardware to route bolts through existing frame rail access holes.
Two people may be required to ease installation. The manual recommends contacting an authorized CURT installer if you are hesitant to undertake this task on your own. Technical support is available at 877-287-8634.
You must lower the exhaust to access the frame rails, but you do not need to fully remove it. Remove the rearmost rubber isolator on both mufflers, then loosen the strap that fastens the exhaust pipes together behind the muffler and gently pull the mufflers downward. After installation, re-install the exhaust.
Fishwire is used to route the 7/16" x 1 1/2" carriage bolts and SP2 spacers through the frame rail access holes. Thread the fishwire and bolts through the access holes, but do not pull the bolts through the side of the frame rails until the hitch is raised into position. Once the hitch is in place, feed the fishwire ends through the mounting holes on the hitch frame brackets and pull the bolts through the holes in the side of the frame rails and hitch frame brackets. Secure with 7/16" flange nuts.
All 7/16" hardware (bolts and flange nuts) must be torqued to 70 ft/lbs.
CURT 11210 includes: 4 bolts (7/16-14 UNC, 1-1/2", Grade 8, yellow zinc, part 10-10282), 4 serrated flange nuts (7/16-14 UNC, Grade 8, yellow zinc, part 20-00103), 4 square hole spacers (0.250 x 0.88 x 2.25", part CM-SP2), and 4 pieces of 7/16" fishwire (part 7_16 FISHWIRE).
Safety glasses must be worn at all times while installing this product. Before you begin installation, read all instructions thoroughly. If you are hesitant to undertake this task on your own, contact an authorized CURT installer.
All non-trailer (wheel-less) loads applied to this product must be supported by 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. CURT recommends the use of 18050 stabilizing straps for all non-trailer loads. See the CURT catalog or visit www.curtmfg.com for further information.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This ongoing inspection is critical to safe operation.
