Yes, the Curt 56215 Custom Wiring Harness is designed for Honda Crosstour vehicles. It is also compatible with SUVs, Mini and Full-Sized Vans in the S-class category. The harness connects to the factory trailer tow connector located behind the passenger side interior trim panel in the cargo area.
The Curt 56215 has two circuit ratings: Signal Circuits are rated at 3.0 amps per side, and Tail/Running Circuits are rated at 6.0 amps total. You must not exceed these product ratings or your tow vehicle's lamp load rating, whichever is lower. Exceeding the rating can cause loss of warranty, overheating and potential fire.
You will need a 10mm socket, a ratchet, and a small flat blade screwdriver. These are the only tools specified in the installation instructions.
Yes, you must disconnect the negative battery terminal before beginning installation. The battery is located on the driver side under the hood. Reconnect it only after all other installation steps are complete and you have reinstalled all removed items.
The vehicle wiring harness connector is located in the cargo area behind the passenger's side interior trim panel, at position S4 as shown in the Wiring Location Guide. You will need to remove the cargo area cover, cargo storage tray, side cargo tray, and rear scuff panel to access it.
Insert the tow wiring harness housing into the vehicle's white trailer tow connector. Make sure the housings are fully inserted with the locking tabs in place. The connector will be similar in appearance to the towing wiring harness connector itself.
Locate a flat spot inside the vehicle near the taillight and adhere the black converter box using the provided double-sided tape. This should be in the cargo area where you have access to the vehicle wiring harness connector.
Insert a 15 amp fuse into fuse position 10 in the vehicle fuse box. The fuse box is located in the engine compartment on the driver side near the firewall. The battery connection must be fuse-protected with a 10-amp max fuse. Do not exceed these ratings as it can cause loss of warranty, overheating and potential fire.
When in use, route the 4-flat to the center of the vehicle and out of the trunk. When not in use, roll it up and store in a convenient, out-of-the-way location inside the trunk. Secure any loose wires with the provided cable ties to prevent tangling and damage.
Reinstall all items you removed during installation, including the cargo area cover, cargo storage tray, side cargo tray, rear scuff panel, and cargo tie down. Reconnect the negative battery terminal. Install the provided 4-flat dust cover to help prevent corrosion. Test for proper function using a test light or by connecting a properly wired trailer.
