Yes, CURT part number 11599 is designed for 2020-present Mazda CX-30 Crossover models. Verify your vehicle year and model match before purchasing.
The CURT 11599 is rated for a maximum trailer weight of 2,000 lbs. and a tongue weight of 200 lbs. when used as a weight-carrying hitch. You must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.
The manual does not provide the hitch weight specification.
You will need: a die grinder, ratchet, 3/4" socket, 6" socket extension, torque wrench, utility knife, and safety glasses. The manual rates this as an easy to moderate difficulty installation.
The kit includes: (4) 1/2" fishwires, (4) .250 x 1.00 x 3.00" square hole spacers (part CM-SP6), (4) 1/2"-13 UNC grade 8 carriage bolts 1-1/2" long (part 10-10287), and (4) 1/2"-13 UNC grade 8 serrated flange nuts (part 20-00062).
The manual does not specify whether battery disconnection is required. Contact CURT technical support at 877-287-8634 for clarification.
Two people may be required to ease installation. The manual recommends reading all instructions thoroughly before beginning and using proper tools to improve installation quality.
No, drilling is not required. However, you must use a die grinder to enlarge the third hole from the back of the vehicle on both sides of the frame rail to accommodate the supplied spacers and carriage bolt heads. Excess sealer should be removed with a utility knife if present.
No, fascia trimming is not required for this installation.
Yes, you must temporarily lower the exhaust by unhooking the (4) rubber isolators from the muffler. Support the exhaust so it is not damaged. After the hitch is installed and fasteners are torqued, raise the exhaust back into position and reinstall the (4) rubber isolators.
Fishwiring is a technique using the supplied 1/2" fishwires to thread carriage bolts and spacers through the frame holes before raising the hitch into position. You must fishwire (2) 1/2" carriage bolts and (2) square hole spacers into the first and second holes on both sides of the frame rail. This allows the bolts to be in place when you raise the hitch over the exhaust.
Carefully raise the hitch into position over the exhaust and onto the carriage bolts. Loosely install the supplied hex flange nuts. Push the hitch as far rearward on the vehicle as possible to give maximum clearance to the muffler and exhaust components.
All 1/2" fasteners must be torqued to 110 lb.-ft. This includes the carriage bolts and hex flange nuts.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times while installing this product.
All non-trailer (wheel-less) loads applied to this hitch must be supported by CURT part number 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. See the CURT catalog or visit www.curtmfg.com for further information.
You must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The CURT 11599 is rated for 2,000 lbs. trailer weight and 200 lbs. tongue weight, but your vehicle's limits may be lower. Always follow your Mazda CX-30 owner's manual for towing specifications.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound. This is an ongoing maintenance requirement, not a one-time check.
The manual states you should periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound, but does not specify an exact interval. Regular inspection before towing is recommended.
