GTW and 1,200 lbs. TW. It can also accept a weight distributing hitch, offering a maximum WD capacity of 12,000 lbs. and a WDTW of 1,200 lbs. CURT class 4 tow hitches are as much suited for work as they are for play. With their high load capacities, they are typically used for towing larger trailers, including everything from a double-axle utility trailer or livestock trailer to a full-length camper or large boat trailer (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component). All CURT class 4 receiver hitches come with a 2" receiver tube opening and all the necessary hardware for a complete installation. From light-duty to heavy-duty, every CURT custom hitch is engineered to be vehicle-specific, using actual vehicles to create the optimal design. We then combine high-strength steel, precise welding and a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and durable black powder coat to provide you with a hitch you can depend on. To prove it, we test all our hitches in accordance with SAE J684 for safety.

Yes, you must remove the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) hitch prior to installing the CURT hitch. The OEM hitch is held on by 6 M18 or M14 bolts and 2 M18 shear bolts. The shear bolts are located at the 2nd most rearward bolt position on the OEM hitch and may require drilling with a 1/2" drill, grinder, or air hammer to remove.
Required tools are: safety glasses, spray lubricant, ratchet, 12" socket extension, 24mm socket, 18mm socket, 3/4" socket, torque wrench, and wire brush. Fishwire is also required for the installation process.
The parts list includes: 6 M18x2.5 bolts (part 10-10503), 8 5/8"-11 UNC car bolts (part 10-10344), 8 square hole spacers 0.375 x 1.25 x 2.50" (part CM-SP9), 8 pieces of 5/8" fishwire (part 5_8 FISHWIRE), 6 flat washers 3/4" (part 30-00152), 6 lock washers 3/4" (part 30-00208), and 8 5/8"-11 UNC serrated flange nuts (part 20-00105).

Fishwire is used to guide the 5/8" bolt and CM-SP9 spacer into the rearmost hole on each side of the frame rail. This is particularly necessary for all holes on vehicles without M18 weldnuts and for the rearmost hole on the passenger side (which has M18 weldnuts). The fishwire helps position these fasteners before the hitch is raised into place.
Yes. Before fishwiring the bolts and spacers, clean the frame rail and weldnuts as needed using a wire brush and spray lubricant. This ensures proper fastener engagement.
The hitch is installed with 6 M18 bolts and 2 5/8" nuts. The M18 bolts are torqued to 201 ft-lbs and the 5/8" nuts are torqued to 165 ft-lbs.
