This class 1 trailer hitch and ball mount combination is designed for a custom fit on select years of the Chevrolet Aveo5 and Pontiac G3 (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. No matter where you're headed or which season of the year you’re towing in, this CURT hitch is equipped for long-lasting resilience to the elements. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.

Yes, drilling is required. You must drill holes in the bumper beam for 1/2" bolts. The drill access is obtained by removing the bottom rear fascia screws. A 1/2" drill bit is required.
You do not need to remove the entire fascia, but you must remove the bottom rear fascia screws to allow drill access through the rear holes of the hitch and into the bumper. These screws are reinstalled after drilling and torquing.
All 1/2" fasteners must be torqued to 110 lb-ft.
1. Place carriage bolt and spacer into the vehicle's tow loop and raise the hitch into position, securing with hex flange nut (finger tight). 2. Remove bottom rear fascia screws for drill access. 3. Rotate hitch to center it on the vehicle and square it to the bumper, then drill 1/2" holes in the bumper beam. 4. Fishwire carriage bolts and spacers through the bumper ends, out the drilled holes, and through the hitch mounting holes. 5. Install flange nuts to the carriage bolts. 6. Torque all 1/2" fasteners to 110 lb-ft and reinstall fascia screws.
Fishwire is a fastening method where bolts and spacers are threaded through the bumper from the outside, passing through the drilled holes and into the hitch mounting holes. The term refers to the flexible 1/2" x 30" fishwire included in the kit, which is used to guide the carriage bolts through the bumper.
During Step 1, secure the carriage bolt and spacer in the tow loop with the hex flange nut at finger tight only. Full torquing to 110 lb-ft is performed in Step 6, after all fasteners are installed and the hitch is properly aligned and drilled.
In Step 3, rotate the hitch so that it is centered on the vehicle and square to the bumper before drilling the holes for the 1/2" bolts.
All non-trailer loads applied to this hitch must be supported by auxiliary stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty.
Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The hitch itself is rated for 2,000 lbs. trailer weight and 200 lbs. tongue weight, but your vehicle's capacity may be lower.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound.
